Well guys... here's what you missed out on!!

Pics from this weekend of the drifting and Rotorstock show on the Saturday (Don't have any pics from the retroshow on Sunday yet)

Top weekend and some good skills on show

Pod is a sh*t surface for skidding, lots of potholes and and the joins the in the tarmac are like f*cking steps so with this in mind, some drifters were worried about snapping rods and were talking about sleeving them for added strength on the pod circuit. This combined with the sketchy on and off weather made for some interesting drifting.

Phil Morrison took the crown in his silly power S15. Much kudos to him for getting it back on the road in time for the event and then to take the win with maximum points aswell

The series was being led by a V8 powered S15 but for some reason it didn't attend pod so what the overall standings are now I don't know but dayum! Loving it.

A lil vid here of some of the lads:

In the vid, the first car out is Phil Morrison in the Driftworks S15, second up is Bonbon in the Driftworks Skybus and third you may not recognize with its new colour scheme... This is Martin French in the Dragon Performance RX7 that was previously black and gold as seen at JDM allstars and other skid events now sporting its rather ghey pink plus yellow wheels and custom graphics, tidy!

One of the lads I was with got a cracking photo of Bonbon T boning the barriers which will go down a treat over on Driftworks, luckily for the DW lads it was only plastic and not concrete

The show itself saw some awesome metal and amazing pieces of kit and plenty of crazy goings on on the drag strip. I'll try and get some of the best videos up when I can, plenty of sub ten second monsters and as usual some sleeper-like surprises in there and an RX7 rotary powered Mk2 Escort

The camping saw some lets say amusing events with eleven or twelve of us huddled round a combination of instant BBQ's and gas stoves all slightly smashed having a giggle about the most random subjects ever including Smiler the oddly shaped beefburger from Tescos

The weather was on and off throughout the weekend from one extreme to the other but it dampened noones spirits. Sunday saw the retro show with plenty of Mercs, Beemers, Dubs, Fords etc. Some rat look cars and some balls out euro motors rolling alongside stupidly insane cars like a mk4 escort running a chevy big block with a blower hanging out of the bonnet

Pics of Sunday to follow soon hopefully!!!

The convoy down there was immense. Jap porn in the form of several generations of RX7's and my silvia all in various states of tune whether it be track, street, drift or balls out orientated as far as modding is concerned so to say we turned some heads would be an understatement. I believe there were videos of the convoy and some photos I'll be looking to place my hands on. Good times

And all this cost me? £70 for a top weekend!!! I did a 400 mile trip on under £60 of fuel split between me and a friend so £30 a piece. Entry to both shows and camping was a total of 20 squid and another 20quid later and we had BBQ's and booze, legendary weekend!

Jealous? You should be

Anyway... I'm giving you guys plenty of notice so you best all make it down to jap show finale later this year. It's on Sunday the 4th October at Santa Pod once again... Be there!!!

I like the route your going down ;) If i had gone jap, instead of german, i would probably be going places you are now, and entering competitions etc. But i drive german, so i have to be sophisticated lol :(

Are you going to get more into drifting yourself, and enter tournaments?

Yeah for sure, I've spent the last six months doing a few beats tidying the car up and sorting any running issues and now it's at a decent standard I just need to roll the rear arches and change the gearbox oil. Clutch is okay-ish for drifting but it is an OE part so could do with uprating at my power.

Work has been tight at the start of this year but I'm finding my feet slowly so as soon as I have enough put aside to cover next years insurance renewal (not til january but I want to know the money is there) then I'll start doing a few drift days etc :) Probably wont reach comp level because of the costs but we'll see ;)
