Sorry, it sprang to mind when I read the title :D

In terms of the expensive stuff that you wrap around your wheels, I can seriously recomend the Michelin Pilot Sports, great grip all year round and when pushed they dont squeel.

I've always found these two to be the most competitive

I would recommend Falken FK451 in those sizes. Lee has them as well. A good all round tyre, skittish in the damp, but fine in the dry and wet and not expensive.

FAS, your spot on mate, I did have those in mind as i'll be lowering my ride too and heard that the tyre wall is not that wide.

Sport Coupe - I don't like the tread pattern ..

oh..my supplier just told me that the Falkens are too thin , said it does'nt cover the rim enough  and suggested Hankook or Continental Sports...anybody know much about these tyres?

Falkens will be fine. I have 265 stretched across a 10" wide rear. The way i go through tyres, falkens are the best option for performance on a budget.

Where are you getting your Falkens from?

How many miles can you get out of Falkens on average? I know it depends on how you drive etc. But a Ball park figure would be useful

I'm running the same sizes with Dunlop Sport 9000's...

Very very happy with them... Progressive handling.

Yep Falkens are good budget performance tyres. I would also look at Kumho. However, if you could get Contis at the price of the Falkens, I'll go for them.

Do you mean Continentals?

Do the Falkens have a Fat Rim Protector becasue thats what i'm looking into. The HANCOOKS have what they call XL rim protection :D

feck that www.mytyres.co.uk website is fooking cheap!!

Ive got the continental Sport 2's on mine and they seem a very good tyre in the wet and dry and do have a protective side wall. They were a little pricey though.

I paid £200 for 2x 225/40/18 Pirelli P Zero Nero . I can ask him if my supplier can do good prices for your sizes??

You need to check this out  Tyres at cost +15% in Brum too ;)

Now you can go for a decent tyre instead of a middle of the line jobbie.

I recently bought some 255s pilot sports for my rears from mytyres and they set me back £170 each. Think I may have to take that chap up on the offer and get some for the fronts and keep them in the garage till I need them. That is unbelievably cheap....

Deffo recommend the pilot sports though.
