Have currently got the 4:3 Screen & MKII Computer and would like to upgrade to the 16:9 Widescreen along with the MKIII Computer which have already been bought.
Has anyone done this upgrade that could point me in the right direction and save me cocking it up [hmm

Cheers Beemarman [ok
yo,
i've done this on my car, very straightforward to do, all the cable connectors are all plug n play ;) blue/white for the screen... blue/white for the nav computer.. going from mkii system you'll need to take the output from the gps "trimble" unit and feed it directly to the mkiii or mkiv unit (all builtin nowadays).
give us a shout if u need any help.. [ok
ps: you might need to get a new tv module as mkii and before only support 4:3 mode.. or get ur existing tv module recoded (only in germany i think)..

Tin, thanks for the info [ok With regard to the ''trimble'' unit, could you please explain a little more.
I am going ahead with the upgrade this weekend, so any pointers or additional info would be gratefully appreciated.
trimble unit is just a slim box of tricks with 2 cables, white power type connector and a coaxial cable (push fit), this is the one your interested in, as this cable needs to plug into the mkiii unit (to feed the gps signal from big brother up in da sky ;)
to access the trimble unit, requires alittle work, need to move the cd changer, tv tuner, dsp (box with alot fins on it, heatsink etc), and then you should see a silvery slim looking box).
the white connector isn't needed, and can be taped up securely somewhere.
give us a shout if u need any other info, i'll try and dig out/find a pic of the pieces for ya.
