I've convinced the misses to join me on a novice track day. :)
Basically she wants a few lessons with a tutor then a few laps of the track on her own.
What's the best track + package ? :)

Most circuits do their own package, with affordable tutoring. :)

Have a look at Motorsport Visions website. They offer track days with or without tuition. I did a Brands Hatch evening session with them which was pretty good. I think Bedford would be your nearest track and from what i understand it has plenty of run off
cheers

I'd say start her off on an airfield one. Try Motorsport Events. They are based near Swindon and use many of the RAF airfields in the surrounding area. There are no armcos to worry about on these. Nearest would be Keovil I think. It's all open pit and you can have as many laps as you want. They offer driver training and a burger van. As a bonus, you can book a morning session or an afternoon one as opposed to a whole day affair.
I'd strongly recommend Bedford. They do driver training days and the bedford GP track has huge run off on every corner which basically guaruntees she can't tank the car.
Huge huge huge recommendations for a novice trackday from me.

Bedford is good because of the run offs.
The alternative is to get a few friends together and hire Llandow - small circuit - that means you don't go very fast - and last time I hired it - £3000 for a weekend day

Bedford looks like a possibility for sure! but we don't own a sports car (yet) so we are after somewhere that provides a car, something like a Lotus Exsige ??
Well Silverstone does the Exige driving days ..?

Yep, I know but the track isn't novice friendly I hear ;)
To be honest, she won't really be booting it fast enough to be affected by a difficult circuit. It will be mostly about taking the racing line, other users and general etiquette.

..true, but I will be :D
Silverstone do offer a wide variety, which is appealing, will give em a call. :)
