Hi there everyone im new to this forum :)

..neway bought some ccfl's from Teddy(top guy) and tried installing em today..

have noticed that my passenger side warning light is on and sometimes the indicator light stays perm on! Do i need to recheck my wiring again have already done so..

The red connectors that i got with the kit.. where exactly do they go and do i have to cut the original wire to expose the wire underneath then connect them??? Sorry im a total novice at these things..

One more thing my angel eyes seem to flicker quite alot is that normal? Appreciate any help guys and hope to get pics up as soon as they are sorted! :)

Hello mate,
sounds like you got a bad connection. Did you try the angel eyes to see if they work before installing them?
You can cut the wiring if you want, but what I did was took the side light bulb and holder out left the plug, used some terminal connectors and pluged them in, that way I still have the orginal holders if ever I need to fit anything new ;)
Have you fitted both lights? is there anything wrong with the other light (if you have fitted it)

If all esle fails drop teddy an e-mail and I am sure he will have it sorted before you can say "bob's your uncle" [writesmil

When you installed them, did you remove your sidelight bulbs from their holders? Sounds like that's the problem. The CCFL's don't draw as much current as the standard sidelight bulbs and as such, the car thinks that the light is out. The indicator comes on as a safety measure. If you put the bulbs back in their holders, the issue should clear up.

IF you've installed them WITH The sidelight bulbs in place, then there's something else wrong and ignore the above

Fas,
I did the same install on mine (faclift cab) and I took my side lights out altogether. The invertor that comes with the CCFL's should do the trick.

are you sure the original filament side light bulbs are securely back in their holders ? If correctly done then the original side bulbs will be "on " at same time as the angels .

I cannot think of a scenario where the indicators would stay on if the original side bulbs are back in and functional . If you inserted these bulbs into the holder whilst the angels were "on " , then the indicators can take up to 40 seconds to extinguish .

Alternatively , you could opt for our "guardian angel " wiring loom that will by pass all this nonsense and include the fade feature whereby the angels fade on and fade off with courtesy light / alarm activation . £29

please see post and wirinf diag on my CA Automotive section , I posted up new diagram today

best of luck

What generation CCFLs have you got and are you testing them with the engine running? First gen CCFLs need the engine on to illuminate correctly (at least they do on E36s).

Hope that helps and good luck,

Shuriken.
