does anyone know how much I should expect to pay for an inspection 1 on a 2001 E46 318ise. Its booked in for one on thursday at the dealers but I have had problems before about them changing there minds on price.

Hopefully one of you guys will know what ishould expect.

nearly fas, my last one was £235 (no wonder they are called $tealers!). Why don't you ask for menu-priced servicing - so they can't charge more once they've quoted.
Thats what I have done in the past, and they have never exceeded the original quote.

My inspection 1 was £198, included brake fluid, air con recharge and the other usual bits

was that at main dealer fas? Mine quoted 100 notes for a/c recharge alone, 80 for brake fluid and thats the cost of ypur inspection 1 already, let alone the rest of it.
Did you supply your own oil though?

Yes from main dealer, Altwood Windsor and no, didn't supply anything mate.

All $tealers set their own labour rates which tend to control prices, generally within M25 and Major conurbations are the dearest. Ask for their quoted labour rates, then negotiate - my local gives me the 4+ rate even tho the car is only 2 years old!

my local has just told me that 4+ no longer exists and is infact 6+ now! WTF! :(
