As some of you may know I am currently making a driving game and we are currently looking at possible locations that will be recognisable, interesting and most importantly fun. It could be real or part-ficticious (like scenes from films). I'd like to avoid locations that's been done to death (LA, Tokyo etc.) but instead look for a good mix of city/suburb/rural/bonkers locations. I know some of you are avid gamers so I wanted to hear from you where you'd like to see cars being raced. If you have some ideas pls post up or PM me!

Aye Dubai is in our list to research as they have some recognisable buildings although there may be issues with licensing buildings so we may have to fudge it:)

depends what style of driving game to be fair... what're you going for? Realistic simulation... joyboy need for speed ricer type stuff... mixed styles... muscle cars... I suppose different things suit different settings. I like the whole sort of touge still thing with hill descents through valleys and mountains in japan. The whole UAE lifestyle and areas could be cool too. Maybe hitting lesser done places like islands such as cyprus or something *shrugs*

aye, I am looking into infamous dori-dori drift routes in Japanese mountain side as reference so it will be nice to have a good mix between city and mountain A-roads.

have a look at the next issue of EDGE for the game I am working on (it's on the front cover):) it won't be anal sim (like Forza/GT) but it won't be Mario Cart either...

Bosnia sounds interesting. not sure if we'd make it back from the research trip tho! Turkey sounds great as it's got a good mix of Europe/Asia.
Dan - Croydon may be a tad too local for the mass market!

I had Hong Kong in mind but not sure if the roads are wide enough

I think the idea is that it has to be an urban area. Need for speed meets death race is my hope for this one :D

London's been done, although we are bound to say yes to that lol. None of the other UK cities are high enough profile. For me, it has to be somewhere with landmarks and also some ridiculously stupid intersections etc. If Tokyo is out.. Well, Rome stands to reason. If you guys were creative with reality then Rome could easilly lead out to the Stelvio pass :D etc

It's not a city, but one sick road. You make a mistake and you fall to your death.

In Google Maps type in "Ronda to Marbella".
