Alright guys, went to Power Engineering this morning for a rolling road run, all went well until 5 minutes later Ian came to me and said they were having problem testing power figure of my car. They said on later E46 M3s the traction control cannot be disabled completely and when they were revving my car the engine cut off at only 6500RPM...so they could not get an accurate reading of my car's power.... :( They said for M cars the rev must go upto 7000RPM or higher to extract all the power from the car but they just couldn't...maybe my car was too powerful for them to test wahahahaha

they didn't charge me in the end as there is no point for me to go home with only 250 BHP showing on the graph...

I'll need to find someone who knows how to disable the DSC completely and give it another go then...

Teddy, on the other well known BM Site...you know which one..
they had the same problem, but they managed a way around this.

Try doing a search there on that topic.

yeah I had a word with Roy from CA and he know a sequence to disable the traction control completely...I think I remember seeing that post...let me dig that out. Or Mits we can put the intake on your car and do the dyno hehehe it sounded awsome....S54 revving over 7k in a sealed room....vrroooooooooooooom :D

Hmmmm looking at my dyno sheets, my output peaked at 4900 RPM and took a downward dive, maybe the same issue

They charged me full price though

Even holding the DSC for 3secs doesnt disable all the safety off :S

Nick have a look at your original BMW data for 330ci clubsport and see at what rpm the highest output is reached. M3's 343bhp peaks at 7900rpm but your S/C might peaks at a different rev? the guys there said BMW usually over quotes bhp around 20 or more but I heard otherwise?

50 quid? I heard him saying "Tedy there's no point for me taking 40 quid off you because we are not getting an accurate reading from your car..."...hmmmm

the car won't let me pass 6200rpm when it's not in gear... does everyone else's car do the same?

BigFas

does it matter? From the instructions, it says take it to 6200RPM whilst in 3rd (i.e. on the dyno rollers)

Before you go make sure:

the oil is topped up and isn't old
tyre pressures correct
water level correct
enough fuel for the runs

be prepared to hear your baby scream!!!!
