Hi Guys,
I have just got home and car driving fine, but went to move the car and there is no power steering at all and with 235 tyres on the front it is a pain in the rear.
Is there any fuse linked to power steering & where is the fluid resevoir?
And having to drive to Blackpool everyday I need to sort asap.

I've never experienced this problem but would hazard to guess your power steering pump is probably dead. I hope I'm wrong but you will need to take it to a garage or dealer either way.
If your power steering fluid level is OK, then it's unlikely to be a leak or ruptured hose. So pump problem.

How did this work out for you, was it a hard job and how much did it cost? Exact same thing just happened to me, had to drive up to the city and back to see my girlfriend this evening and felt like I'd been to the gym by the time I got home!

In the end found a second hand unit for £85 off a 2002 Coupe & then the garage charged £40 to fit.
I never paid a penny though as the garage I bought it off covered the cost.
Also do not drive while it is broken otherwise you risk damaging your steering rack which will end up costing a lot more:eek:

Well I have had to drive it a certain amount, I'll not drive it tomorrow then.
Result on the second hand unit, I was looking at just buying the eurocarparts one for £175. Would normally use a genuine part but I'm going to sell the car once this is fixed, to be honest it's been noting but a money pit and I don't think I'll ever buy a BMW again, I'll stick to Audi/MBZ.

Ok £350 later fixed, easy job took 1 hour to swap them out.
Going to have to sell up I think, can't afford to keep paying out like this :(
