Hit an object on the motorway

Small metal object came flying over the barrier from the opposite lane, I was only doing about 50, saw the whole thing happen in slow motion, slammed on the brakes but it just clipped the front.

If I hadn't have seen it and braked, it would have smashed through the windscreen, made a right bloody bang :(

Its part of the bumper, which is plastic. Not knowing much about body repairs, is this something that can be done without buying a whiole new plastic bumper? :confused: I was going to get the front spoiler done in a few weeks time as its in tatters anyway.

That front spoiler is scratched to shit, shouldnt be a too big job you can get it plastic welded and it will be good as new

yea definately worth waiting. You can get and stone chips picked up on the way to germany sorted at the same time ;).

Shit Matt, thats unlucky and lucky at the same time. If you need a good bodyshop that local-ish give us a shout, they did all the work on my car. can't fault them. Don't think there is any harm in popping down to see if it is repairable then you can decide if you want it done, pre or post ring trip. At least that way they will tell you if it's best having a new bumper or not. PM me if you want the details.

On a trip down to Gloucester in my Z3 I was hammering it with the hood and windows down. Put the windows up about a minute later a stone came flying up and steamed into the window. Didn't break or crack but made some noise and impact. Had I not put the windows up it would basically have been like a gunshot to my head :eek:

I always keep the windows up at high speeds now.
