I would have thought in current Market 9.5k tops
agree with the others some where between the two prices.
thats lots of miles for an M3.

I sold my 02 plate, MINT 95k Fully loaded SMG, TV, Nav, HK, with new cream leather, all the toys for 10K cash! I no it was a tad cheap, and sold within 4 hours but what is the point of asking for over the odds and have your time wasted.

£6500, sounds like a piece of shite to me.
Wripped seat, fake shitzer stuff on, probably need to replace the brakes, no sat nav, mileage way to high, worst colour for an m3.
So many M3s for sale out there, in much better condition than what that sounds like. Trust me, offer him £6500 for it, and walk away :D He will call you back in a few days or weeks. ;)
I reckon it will be £7k max these cars are worth fuck all

I have bought and sold about 15 cars in the past 3-4 months selling from home. I would offer him £7,400 max! Good luck.

damn
is that how much some M3's are making these days in the market? the cheapest iv seen an e46 M3 is around 8500 and even now im looking at the autotrader i cant find any less that 9k
surely even the bits mentioned i.e rip in the seat is only minor as that is to be expected for a car of that mileage.

Not the best of colours, I think no more than £7k but then you got to spend money on top getting the seat done, may be stone chips

I would not expect ripped up seats even with that mileage, I recently took my leather out of my car (95k) and the seats were not ripped up...
You're going to do £3-400 on a new seat base from BMW so I personally wouldn't say it's worth more than £6/6500...
The go faster bits on it won't be worth anything extra value wise imho, the seller would have been better off selling the bits seperately then trying to sell a stock car.
Personally speaking I wouldnt buy a car with ripped up seats, as if he can't be bothered to fix it, it doesn't really bode well that he hasn't looked after the car.
I was offered £6250 for my car at the end of last year, stock, freshly detailed (no stone chips or scratches or marks) on a £28k 335D, so there is no way that car is worth more than mine imho.

Probably around 8-9k I would of thought. It's all very well people saying there's loads out there and giving low values, but when you're actually looking for one you will find differently. Doesn't sound like a particularly good example though, and the extra's add no value to a used car, just make it harder to sell. Topaz blue is actually quite a nice colour when it's all polished up, I viewed one last week in that colour and was surprised at how good it looked.
Edit: Just re-read your initial post, with regards to servicing, around 110-120k miles would of been when the second inspection 2 would of been due. Not sure I'd be happy with the owner having done this themselves. The lack of proper servicing would probably drop the price by at least £1000 in my book and I doubt I'd even consider buying it.

Just to give you an idea of what territory 6.5k is on pistonheads...
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/927764.htm
A fake M3 V reg fully re-sprayed in a non M colour with 113,000 miles.
The car we are talking about may have a rip in a seat (although we have no idea how bad the rip is) and very high mileage but it's still an M3 and if you bought it stock, you would have to actually buy all of the mods (which it has on it) seperately.
The cheapest M3's on Pistonheads and Autotrader are still going for 10k.
Imo it's worth no less than £7.5k maybe 8k.
Would i buy it? Probably not.

We just part ex a 2002 Topaz blue M3 coupe for a 15K car for 10800, it had 54000 on the clock. As other have said I do not think a ripped seat or a few stone chips will warrant it being sold for 6-6.5K but I would also estimate it to be around the 8-9K mark. The concern on the car would be if the car was serviced properly when it was done by the owner.
Would be worried as to why he hasn't got the seat fixed before selling it, could indicate that the owner can't afford to look after it, which could mean there are other things on it which haven't been done properly - such as the servicing which you mentioned he'd done himself.
I have a scrape on the bumper from where i left mine in a car park, haven't got round to fixing it, but I'd never dream of trying to sell the car without getting it fixed.
I'd imagine it will also cost you a fair bit to run, found with mine that once it got past 60,000 miles (has done 70k now) quite a few things started needing replacing, so a further 60k miles on you'd expect the same again - suspension parts and the like for one.

to be honest - and have just done it (to be picked up sunday) from BMW - I wouldn't touch it (as tempting as it may be)
How do you know when you buy it that it won't fall apart - High milage and age I would save a little more and buy something that as been looked after properly.
