Have fun! :D
doing install now anyone got msn whos done it?
add ahhcrapitsafif@hotmail.com im kinda stuck. Ok worried i might break something would be more appropriate. My first time ive dont anything to bmw outside.
never mind! a little elbow grease got it shifting :D
How did you go in the end bro???
well got one side done. After almost 2 hours! I was being over careful not to break anything basically. Put it all together and then realised one of the CCFL was off center LOL. Anyways just before that simon showed up with the indicators and popped those in for me :D. We compared brighnesses of silver indicators with OEM. Compared the CCFL's to his wheelpower xenon version of it (which i like ALOT especially the remote activation!). Then we chatted and chatted about all things BMW for about an hour. Decided to carry on in the morning when ill be able to see better :).

Are these the 8500k type. Am well impressed!
Do you need to get headlights realigned? Or are these non-directional?
Do they just stick onto existing lights (e36)? Is adhesive supplied?
Grrr im starting to regret not getting these Teddy.........
They are really looking good guys very nice indeed...
Afif i think that were going to have to pump up the action for the saloons mate, cant have these coupe boys getting all the line light. :D
damn right . Im stuck deciding between the mtech and m3 replica. Teddy selling M3 replica one for 169 now so ive started thinking about it.

is it the M3 replica + ACS lip moulded bumper for 169, if it is, then i would go for that, cos no one that i know have fitted one so far.
if i haven't already had my mtec bumper i would had bought that instead.
all well, just saw it's for coupe and vert.
so it won't fit your car.

'now you can have the look of E46 M3 front bumper without expensive modifications. Fit all E46 models, introducing our new E46 M3 front bumper replica. Available for coupe, convertible, saloon and touring models'
Yah its a hard choice, im torn to be honest with you.
Im not to sure if the M3 Rep would look any good with my 17" and have always kinda wondered if the splitter kit would also fit the replica?
The OEM Mtech II is a hell of a cost over here something like $400GBP just for the bumper so i would hate to price out the whole lot OEM kit...In saying that im still thinking of getting it just cos ill be able to do the ACS splitters, which i like.
The OEM M3 bumper is about $300GBP but of course some body work is needed, so the costs balance themselves at the end of the day...
Grrr wheels and bumpers are a hell of a choice.
i kno one of the mtech kits is £672 (front, rear and sides including most fitting stuff liek fogs)from the dealers which doesnt include painting or fitting. Its in the 04 accesories catalogue. He quoted me £350 just for the bumper on its own!
Dont know how much M3 ones are. Ill make up my mind once teddy gets back to me on whether he can get the M-Tech ones.

Yes they are and the only genuine 8500k kit available on the market. They are not directional. You can use the supplied 3M double sided tape to fit them inside the lenses or use clear sillicone.

I bought mine from Teddy they fantastic. If you want them to be directional you can do this mod yourself with metal tape and fit this to the back of the CCFL's ;)

Estoril, I'm doing the tape mod this weekend, can you let me know which tape you used and where I can get it from?
Thx

Hi BigFas
I got the tape from B&Q about £3 something. I belive it was just called 'Metal Repair Tape' Its good stuff and and any small kinks you get you can burnish them out with the back of a small spoon. If you where local I give you the roll.:o
Here is the link for applying the tape http://forum.bmwcarmagazine.com/topic2.asp?TOPIC_ID=23488 Just to make sure that the tape was equily at the half way point I cut some stright narrow stips about 3mm and applied this the the CCFL As the tape is very thin you can hardly notice the over lap unless the CCFL is about 3" from your face ;)

It stops the CCFL light being reflected in the headlight reflector plus all of the CCFL light is pointing outwards so its a bit more intence light.
If you checkout the worlds longest thread (Probably) conserning CCFL's you can see the diffrences between the two.:D

I've got an e36 and just ordered halos from Teddy. Is it worth carrying out the mod before I install them? Does it really make a difference?
It would be really handy if someone has taken a picture of before and after mod. Still don't quite understand how to get the tape exactly half way round...

Check out the tape trick link at http://forum.bmwcarmagazine.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23488&SearchTerms=ccfl%2Ce36
I was not convinced at first, but when I started if was quite easy to apply the tape.
I would say if you like the effect of the light not being reflected in the headlight reflector to applythe tape first before fitting them to the car. I confess I have not seen many e36 with the tape trick . There is this link at http://forum.bmwcarmagazine.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23095&SearchTerms=ccfl%2Ce36

mine hasn't been done, as far as I know it depends on which hotmail server you orignially registered with - I think the US one has been done, the Far Eastern one hasn't.

Know it should be easier to fit these to an e36, does anyone know how to remove the e36 headlight glass, have removed the indicator and the 3 clips on top but can't get it to come loose, is there anything underneath?
Teddy could you please post instructions to my delivery address, have already broken clips on one headlamp, don't want to break anything else!
I cant remember off the top of my head but ill get some paper work from home and will let you know, unless by that time someone else has helped you out.

2nd one done, just got the wiring to figure out. Have stuck inverter to back of headlight, do I have to try and keep these things really dry, i.e. seal around leads etc?
Hey not a problem bro, thats what we are all here for.
Umm i would wrap everything up in electric tape so that its all nice, dry and tidy. Post some pics up when youre done, this is what my e36 looks like with mine on :D

Will post photos when done, just got to find time to do the wiring. Did you manage to find anywhere canny to hide the inverters?
i need to get around to sort out where to hide my inverters. The fact i didnt extend the wires means its very difficult to place them in a tidy spot. Ill do it when i get around to doing the tape mod! (ie when i find somewhere that sells metal repair tape!)
