View Full Version : Vert headrest removal (e46)

hi all,
Can anyone tell me how you take the headrests off an e46 vert, i need to replace the leather on one of them as it is damaged,ive got a spare skin(sounds nice!) but not sure how it comes off.

The headrest has an integrated seat-belt feeder which is normally silver. Either side, it has two black covers. Pop these off and it'll reveal 2 screws. remove and the headrest slides out.

nice one cheers im about to put screens in mine and was wondering how they came off. fas do u know if the main stalk for the headrest is hollow to run the screen wire down into the seat

It's hollow. With a bit of fettling you can run the wires down there without too much difficulty.

cheers [ok for that didn,t want to take the seat back off to check till ive done the screens in the audi first .
went for slimmer ones than the audi ones so i dont have to dremal have the headrest out :D

Don't worry about breaking. the pieces are less than £2 from BMW ;)
We managed it though. Get a VERY thin pointed tool and just lever it in between the clip and the metal. it WILL come out.

well got it off but they burst very flimsy clips going now to get a full set from bmw £5
wiring might be a bit tricky bit of drilling is needed need to work on this one any ideas how ure wires were run threw there fas any help wud be great cheers paul
