View Full Version : New Ears & C/Coded Splitters
Hi,
Got the car back from the body shop today, front bumper and splitters look soo much better. Then it was straight round to my mates garage to fit the M3 mirrors i got off ebay. All in all i'm pretty pleased with the results.
I do have a couple of small problems with the mirrors though :( .
1. When i select reverse the mirror goes up looking towards the sky instead of angling down towards the kerb! Has anyone else experienced this b4. Is the motor on upside down or are the wires connected back to front? Any idea's?
2. The glass in the drivers side doesn't go out very far. I'd like it to be able to be angled out more so that i can see more of car's when they're overtaking (not likely to ever happen but you never know LOL)
Any idea's? Anyway, here's the pics, Sorry for the quality but it was getting a little dark...

The mirrors you got are the non foldable replicas right? These mirrors designed to suit LHD cars. Our cars have the passenger mirror angle in more to compensate for our driving postion. Your's are angled the opposite way; hence the extreme angle on the glass to compensate for the fixed mirror body.
You should have checked if they were RHD mirrors first before buying.
The mirror dipping upwards is simply a reversal of 2 wires. I don't know how the wiring sequence is like on your car but you have to take the wires out of the connector and compare them closely with your OEM ones.
Aha, Thanks Nick, Yeah that makes sense. Is it possible to swap the internals from my standard mirrors into the new ones to make them RHD? Is it that easy, probably not :(
Your right, i should have checked 1st. Didn't think about it to be honest. That'l teach me eh! :o
Thanks for your help, much appreciated :D .

It's not the internals, it's the mirror housing themselves that are shaped differently. If you were to change them, might as well buy the proper set.
Looking good matey. Colour coded splitters do look the business. I think I need to get some sorted for mine ....
