Im starting to get a slight judder on braking so i persume the discs are starting to warp plus a bearing is on way out maybe?, can any shed any light on whats best to do.
In the past i have just go stealer to put new brakes on and pay their prices, but now warrenty is out im thinking there's a really good garage near me i could buy some uprated ones and get them too fit for probably less than standard stealers.
Can anyone shed light on whats best to do and what parts i would need and what makes, eg green stuff pads and ebc discs or summots.

thanks guys will the money ever stay in our pockets !!!!!!!!!!!!!

For pads, I always go with Pagid fast roaders as of all the different pads I have tried (and I can tell you, it's alot), they are by far the best for the money. As for discs, well there are plenty to choose from. I currently have black diamond drilled (and have to say they are superb). Have also used standard vented brembo discs (from GSF) and they are very good for the money. You could always match the discs with the pads and go for pagid.
Plenty to think about and I hope I have helped.

yep, i had pagid fast road ones with tarox g88 grooved discs on my 330, they were really good, get some braided hoses to while ur at it:):)
got pagid pads now on my m3 with the stanard discs, much much better again:):)
pagid = kick ass pads :)

Have you tried breakers for a set of 330 brakes(discs, calipers, caliper mounts)? They definitely fill the Type 3s better. Plus you can then upgrade them to the OEM BMW performance X-Drilled discs for the 330 later

im not terribly good at sorting stuff like that as im not car mechanically minded yet im still learning bit by bit. It may be too much to take on what would it involve and cost roughly?

AFAIK, if you get the correct parts (listed above) including bolts, it's straight forward. Prices vary. There are scrap metal after all, I know of people picking the front up for as little as £60.

on a similar note my calipers are turning a nasty rust colour :p. What are my options other than figuring out how to take them off the car and painting them (black)?
