Shopping for new wheels, and like the DPE alloys but not sure what finish, i like the black a lot but i have a black car and i think it might be to black, so was thinking polished but is chrome better? less mantanance? or just personal preferance

Nice wheels Ian, see what you mean, difficult call ? I like the black and the car would co-ordinate with them  .
Perhaps one of our photoshop guru's could put them on the car for you if you supplied a pic unless anyone already got them and can show a pic ?
Otherwise perhaps Dr Nick has some in his libruary ?

Chrome will need a LOT of maintenance in this weather. I personally would go for polished as maintenance would be carried out with wheel-wax and metal polish, no corrosion worries etc. Nice rim choice BTW :)

ive had chrome on a previous car and there a nightmare to maintain in this climate as were the polished rims i had. i think black rims are awesome

High polish or black, please dont go for chrome. Or what about a brushed finish effect?

Ooops... :( Sorry, that wasn't very tactful! :) What I meant to say was that black wheels wouldn't be my personal choice? I think they look good with a polished lip (you can still gauge the rims proportions with a polished lip, whereas all black wheels just dissapear into the arch and tyre IMO) but just not my taste. I love the brushed effect / forged look of high end HREs / Fikse wheels, though they are serious money....

I wouldn't go any more aggressive than 9.0J. As they are custom wheels, I'm sure that can be adjusted to suit your needs.
Here's a pic from my collection ;)

silver on silver cars is always my fav hence why my car is as it is although these new black rims on dark cars are loking amazing and starting to turn me. The silver M3 with anthracite black wheels at the pod looked ace! (sorry don't know whos it was doh!)

HI Ian
I too agree that polished is better for UK roads and weather .
By the way , that black M3 is one of our USA sponsored cars , belongs to BOB LEO ...:)
I believe you can fit the sizes you suggest without any problems , I would stick with standard offset , but some one may have different views on this, I stand to be corrected .
all the best
