Hey guys . Looking for some quick advice. Never worked on my M3 engine before , done alot on my scooby, changing turbo's etc but not on the M3.
So how hard is it to remove standard induction kit and replace with a CAI (from SSDD) ?
Looking for advice of length of time and tools needed ? cheers guys. Quick replies would be helpful since I am doing it tomorrow morning ha .

It's a bit fiddly but it's not difficult. I've done mine like 4 times. The oem box is secured by 2 hex bolts under a plastic electric casing on the right. That can be partially unclipped to access the bolts. So a spanner is needed.
You'll need to remove the MAF so you'll need a torx screwdriver 15 or 20 iirc. You can get that from Halfrauds.
You need pliers to remove the snorkel at the front. The clips just pull out.
You may need to fit the maf screen to avoid juddering, never installed one of Teddys so not too sure.
Any probs, pm me or post and someone should help!

Cheers bud. I should be ok , just wondering if there were any 'different' type of tools I would need ? So basically, torx , sockets and pliers and thats about it?
How long roughly to do ?

Flat head screwdriver too mate for the hose clamp.
First time, difficult to say... If you are handy with tools an hour/ hour and a half maybe??
I've attached a guide for a K&N. It will show you the basics... ;)

You do need to be careful on some of these kit's, especially the Typhoon that you don't mash the MAF when you first hook it up.
The MAF can sit at a different angle from the std set up and come into the firing line of the hood when its closed. Juts make sure you angle it right coz they are very sensitive.

IIRC you need a security torx drive, one with a recess in the middle as the MAF sensor torx screws have the pins in the middle so a normal torx drive wont fit...
To change CAI on the m3, 30 mins tops if you are ok with DIY, its pretty simple.
Another old DIY guide which shows the install of the K&N, again just to give you a rough idea of how to get the bits off:
