it just goes to show how much they try to rip us off
i just got an insurance renewal through as when i got the m3 i just swapped the car over on the policy they were quoting £1200 so i rang them to say that i didnt want to accept the renewal as yet as i was going to have a shop around and see what prices i could get they said well lets have a look and see if theres any thing we can do within a matter of seconds they managed to drop there price to £830 thats nearly £400 difference in a matter of seconds why cant they just quote that in the first place i know there in business to make a profit but to just drop £400 just like that is something else

Mines went up this year as well, but as soon as I added the wife on it came down by £300 :eek: oh and I got some shopping vouchers as well... :)

Same with all insurances mate. When I got my first years public liability they dropped from 1300 to 750 in a phone call. Robbing bastards !!!

I can usually play direct line, tesco and admiral off against eachother. Try these 3! Get a quote from Admiral or whatever, take it to Direct line and ask why your premium is so expensive now and that you can get it XXX cheaper from admiral. Do a real quote so your numbers are realistic but exaggerate if you wish :D If they tell you to jog on, just take the quote from the other company.

Good to know this, I just usually pay the renewal. I find that Direct Line does quote good prices compared to others.

I just saved £500 by changing companies. Could not believe the difference. Gone with Elephant and the amazing thing was, that if I added my gf as a named driver, the premium went down £100! She's only had her licence for 7 months!

I got my renewal through for my 330 which was 900 and i shopped around and got it for 450 with NIG through Adrian Flux. Now got a M3 and NIG went up to 950 and that is with all mods declared
