Ok guys as you know i got an m3 but before i bought it i obviously had a good look around for faults and i found a few..

btw this is a long 1.. if any1 falls asleep while reading i apologise [bang

slight damage on drivers door mirror glass

a bit of over spray on the rear portian of offside sideskirt

quite a few marks on the rear interior trim like golf bag suff etc and scrapes on the front door trims also,

i was to have a cd player fitted also.

ok i was delayed twice while these problems were getting sorted..

excuses: sorry but there has been a muk up at the service station.. they have thrown the interior trim out while they were waiting for the new parts 2 arrive but unfortunately they are on back order ( meaning not even made) but we will have it for you by monday for sure... how they worked that 1 out i aint sure [hmm

anyways that made me a bit edgy made me feel like they were stalling for something so i said its fine you can just put on the trim i have in my car since you have thrown the other1 out they then said no sorry but we havent got the man hours ( it was 10 am and it was already booked in on the fri 2 fit the parts the were expecting arrive that day so why didnt they have the man hours....) i then said ok just realease the car the way it is and i'll sort it my self they then said its not the standard bmw work 2... but letting a customer down twice is clearly and i also had no insurance on both cars by that evening so they had 2 extend my insurance for me.

anyways monday comes i take my cars 2 stealer 2 pick my car up and i forgot my v5 slip from the bmw [bang and they refused 2 give me the car without it! telling me i could be trying a scam  i was like wtf is this you know where i live you have both my mercedes and my bmw you have my license what kinda scam could i possible pull here. but they refused point blank 2 relese it ( turns out its up 2 them if they want 2 relese it or not and not a policy)

anyways i managed 2 get my v5 and then called him up told him i was coming and would be there in 15 minutes he sounded shocked and said ah... im finishing so we will have 2 make this tomorrow..(this was at 5 pm and he finish at 6) anyways at this point i lose it and kinda went nutts at him and funny enough it turned out he could stay..

i got car drove home happy until i actually got out the car at home 2 have a wee look at it....

all of the above was not done!!!

infact you knows that trim that was thrown out before they even had a part 2 replace it by  was actually still on the car!!! when i aksed him where he got the trim from that day he said ah dont worry about it we got it from another car...

so now im extremly worried about whats been going on to the car the week they delayed it.

plus now when i changed gear and sometimes put the clutch in from 1st 2nd there is a knocking noise or almost a sound of something spin slightly the vibrate and stop if that makes sense.

is that normal?

what do i do?

guys again sorry about the length of this thread thanks for spending the time to read it through.

please help :(

oh yeah i forgot to say my air con does not work aswell all it seems 2 do is pump out extremly hot air and i think i might have a slow punture cause my tyre pressure warning keeps coming on twice in a day and i have 2 pump up 1 of the tyres 3 psi seems 2 lose about that every 6 hrs or so but i dunno if its the intense heat out here and the fast driving  its been between 26 and 30 c here.

yeah im hoping some1 will have some idea's i kinda have a plan myself but i wanna see what u guys think.. i really want 2 back him into a corner and get him 2 lie again so... then i will take it 2 either his boss of bmw gb.

This is absolutely normal for manual M3s. Happens on my car too.

Official note from BMW NA to E46fanatics.

The M3 is a refined version BMW’s race cars. It is designed to provide optimum power and performance in a street legal package.

In order to transmit engine torque to the rear wheels instantaneously, without any time lag, the whole M3 power train was designed with maximum torsional rigidity. To achieve this maximum torsional rigidity, the flywheel mass and its damping capability has been reduced to a minimum.

As a result, during an abrupt torque transfer (e.g. 1st to 2nd gearshift at low engine speeds) the driver can receive an acoustic feedback, which can be interpreted as a “clunking or rattling” noise.

The acoustic feedback characteristic is not a symptom of a failure, and does not compromise long-term reliability of drivetrain components (clutch, transmission, differential), nor does it adversely affect performance of the vehicle.

Tyres sound dodgy :p. Just take it to a tyre shop and have them check for a puncture [ok.

is the aircon hot at all fan speeds?

I also had loads of problems with the stealers when I bought my M3. I had loads of missed dates and bad workmanship. I finally spoke to the dealer principle in a polite manner, and explained to him that they should be creating a good relationship between customer and dealer so I will spend my money with them. This worked a treat. I now get trated like a lord. Mind you, I am far from impressed with their workmanship. As soon as the warranty is up, I am going to my BMW indie. Half the price and twice the quality.

Forgot to say, my air con isn't very good either.

Kid, I'm guessing its Eastern?

Anyway, best thing to do IMHO is to contact the dealer principle and suggest that you would like to meet him as you have a slight problem that you dont want to become an issue. Explain, and if you don't loose the rag (hard, I know) and are polite yet assertive you'll generally get what you want.

If it is Eastern, we do a bit of work for them and I know they had alot of disrpution during the G8 summit week. Not an excuse, but these things can happen.

Hope you get it sorted mate and if you're coming through to sort it let me know and we can meet.

If worst comes to the worst, IIRC consumer rights still apply to cars purchased from commercial entities (i.e. dealership) so you may be able to threaten to return the car. I would check this out before using it.

my rear offside is losing 3 psi every 5 hours or so (i timed it what can i say lol) and my air con is blowing out meeeega hot air every setting.

PMW in Chelmsford, Essex. He is an ex main dealer tech. He also owns a heavily modified E39 M5, so he knows the score with the modding fraternity.
