Very long drive, 710 miles from London each way but the roads are amazing  , France-Belgium-Netherlands-Germany (Aachen-Koblentz-Koln-Stuggart-ShroBenhausen( 40 KM from Munich)). Got what I wanted and absolutely love it! :D ....The Infinitas SK+ supercharger :D :D
296BHP and 289lb/ft :D .......AWESOME!
Nothing could possibly go wrong when you get 2 chief engineers from ASA do the install [8D] 710 miles journey back, not a single problem ;) ....just smooth, controlled power and that torque!

SK+ was dynoed and run in before going onto my car. As Mr ASA said, 'everything we sell has to be 99.99% the first time, everytime!'

Bro, I was getting worried about you, hadn't heard anything since you were due back early Friday! That looks as sick as hell! That intake next to the charger looks like something from Robocop.
We need to hook up so I can get up close and personal to it!!
Bottom line. You happy?

Had to delay my trip for a day because I had an interview on Wed. Left Wed night, drove for 14hrs and covered 720 miles. Well knackered when I arrived. Dude, I relied totally on my sat nav for this trip and it took me door to door, 15 mins early. The way forward man, maps are history!
Very happy! Chris (Mr ASA) told me they have an upgrade kit soon for the SK+, to SK1 power output since the new kompressor is based on the SK+ unit. I'm starting to save now for March/April as I will be going back for more BHP :D :D ...We could have a mini gumball, it'll be so cool! The roads are amazing!
Hit 145MPH and stayed on it for a few mins before I chickened out

ASA ran in the blower for me on their dyno, I can gun it anytime now but the weather is so crap I'll wait for a drier day. Put it this way, this morning when I went for a car wash before the rain set in, I was wheel spinning changing from 2nd to 3rd at 5000RPM :D Throttle steer in first is becoming a norm ;)

Nick, you haven't changed your sig yet?

Hey, Nick,
wicked you got it all done! nice one dude, looks amazing.. I'm getting really jealous now.. all these superchargers floating about.. hmm.. maybe a twin supercharged m5 is in order.. hahahah
Good to hear that you got there, without any hicups.. satnav is defo a must now, can't imagine life without it! heheh keep the cd's i don't need them anymore ;)
296bhp.. nice one dude.. you and digs planning a head to head race up the A1 anytime soon? hhe I'll be the time keeper :D
Suspect you'll have to do something on the brakes now.. lots of power to stop
145mph! nice mate.. heheh
wow congrats. Definately something id love to do in the future when i buy a more power beemer :). and 145!!!!!!! I cant even do that much if i tried :(.
O yea today i drifted!!!!. I accelarate a bit 2 fast around this medium sized roundabout near me and the back end came out! (because of the ice i think) :o. Good thing i controlled it well :)

If that goes as well as it looks you're going to need the grin surgically removed from your face! :D
Well done mate. Ive only ever been in one supercharged car and that was M3Geezer's sc 318is E36. That was only a blown 1.9 and it was very very quick, the torque seemed to defy physics (wheel spin from 4th to 5th at 50!). A blower on your car must be awesome!
The workmanship looks spot on, it looks factory fit, perhaps better!
Got me dreaming...although the reality of a blown 4 pot is not likely! :(
Good luck with it, as ever your car looks incredible.

How much did it cost!!
4500 Euros for the kit and 258 Euros for the install ;)

Truly impressive. £3,000 for the kit and £180 ti install! No argument, there simply is no better mod per £ out there.
What do you reckon the brakes now Nick? Std set up up to the job?
Also, is the process fully reversable i.e. when you come to sell, can you put back to std and sell s/c kit?
peppernick
21-11-2004, 01:01 PM
I'll stick to the standard brakes for the moment. I had a pair of AP Racing brakes not long ago and that gave me problems. Besides, no other BBKs can go behind the spoke of the ACS Type 3s anyway :o
S/C is fully reversible. I have the instructions and I think I can reverse it myself with an aid of a proper car lift ;)

Tuning arm Infinitas, makers of ASA superchargers, is located in the vast farmland of Autenzell, outskirt of SchroBenhausen.....Perfect selection of country lanes to test out their products. Nothing impressive from the outside but it's the facilities inside that counts ;)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture088.jpg
Infinitas design and manufacture all their superchargers in house, the ideas and primary design originate from this little room, 3 CAD computers and one genius engineer. So much time he spends in the glass room that it's affectionately named 'Zum's Aquarium'
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture116.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture129.jpg
Just next to it is the dyno room, every supercharger is tested for tolerance at full speed and thermodynamics are recorded.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture081.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture074.jpg
Once blueprint available, every component is machined from these solid block billet aluminium.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture110.jpg
2 milling machines produce these components
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture114.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture111.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture112.jpg
Then finished components are stored in the inventory room
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture127.jpg
Then they are installed on 2 installation bays inside the farm shed

A few examples of engines supercharged by Infinitas
BMW 4.4L V8 (or how the locals call it beg weee 8). Mostly on E39 540, pushes out 470BHP
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture077.jpg
Mercedes 5.0L V8s, with similar power hike
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture085.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture106.jpg
Mercedes 3.2L V6 from CLK320
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture082.jpg
??Audi V8....no idea where this block came from but looks mean
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture083.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture107.jpg
But a lot of interest and attention being put on the latest SK+ for the BMW 6-pots. Low boost (0.3 bar), no intercooler required and virtually easy enough to DIY if you have some core mechanical knowledge and proper car jack. Also, best supercharger in the market for the power hike to cost ratio. 4500Euros......compared to the AC Schnitzer blower (very similar spec) but for double the price.
Given ASA's infallable track record in reliability and customer service, there's really no other alternative.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture104.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture100.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture101.jpg
The only electronic modification done to the ECU is this piggy back ASA-tronic (small white box). Controls air/fuel ratio using standard BMW injectors (across the range even for the 3.0L 380BHP SK3), another ASA special.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture092.jpg
Just for those intersted, this is how the ASA kompressor uses the existing engine oil to lubricate it's internals.
Takes engine oil from the oil filter
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture100.jpg
Recycles back into the oil sump
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/peppernick/Picture130.jpg
Wow nice run thru there :). I can almost picture being in the presence of so many supercharged engines . ASA definately looking very professional. Always good to see :D.

Hey Guys!!!
Just got back from my weekend trip to the country!
Congrats Nick, I can't wait to see it in person. I am giving you a call tom, so you can come and take me for a drive.
I hope its running well. My car is at BMW, they are installing a new exhaust system in under warrenty, new Kats and everything.
Yup lets go back to ASA next year, by then hopefully I will have a full custom exhaust installed.
As for who's car is faster guys, I think its probably going to be head on head, as i have more power but Nick has much less weight.
