so i ticked the box that read yes i have been on a speed awareness course, and my reply was.

bla bla bla unfortunately we are unable to offer you speed awareness course as you have already attended one in the larst 3 years, then it states there records and the date 07/12/06 :o .

bla bla bla
i have arranged for a conditional offer of a fixed penalty to be sent out to you under a separate cover

this letter says nothing about points does the word fixed penalty included £60 fine and 3 points.

http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/legal-advice/fixed-penalty.html

the letter says nothing about endorsable or non-endorsable offence:confused: .

As the offence was speed related (coupled with the fact they've given you an opportunity to avoid this by offering you a course previously), I'd say 'fixed penalty' in this context means £60 and 3 points.

Fixed penalty covers £60 and 3 points.

Next you will receive an "offer of fixed penalty" which will include the details.

The problem you have Sye, is that by sending the first form back and ticking the awareness box, you`ve already admitted to being the driver, so your quite limited in what you can do next. ie. Either accept the fixed penalty or go to court.

In cases where the car is registered to an individual and not a company or leasing/rental agency they only have 6mths to bring a "speeding case" to court from the date of offence (different rules apply to failing to name the driver) so I always play the time game, by writing back and forth and suprisingly its worked a few times.
