That was my Dad and I. Rear trailing arm declared independence - and at the same time annexed part of the chassis. The results are pretty clear.
On the plus side, once the right donor car is found she will be up and running again - the damage is mainly superficial, thanks to an impressive performance by the rollcage
We escaped with no more than 2 days of having a slightly stiff neck - that was it.

  Bloody hell Neil, glad you are both okay.Played that back several times just to watch the point where you hit the barrier  .Proves the point about the rollcage though, its an important safety device and a testament to its strength that you both just got away with a stiff neck

Whew Neil...I could see that it was quite a bang when you hit the armco - even lifted one side of the car up. Glad you and your dad are ok. Sorry to hear about the car. J

Crikey, that was quite a shunt. Glad to hear you are both ok. Bet that roll cage feels like it was worth every penny now. Shame about the car but look forward to seeing the progress of the re-buid.

I have nudged the tyres at 3mph before - but is it. There was no warning - just a big bang from the back - and then the rest is history.
The rebuild is being planned at the moment - just need the right donor car.
The cage is superb - Custom Cages - multipoint weld in - absolute incredible

Glad your ok buddy, the new car will be better. do you have to pay for the damage to the rails?

In answer to the question who filmed it - the circuit. Because SPA is an F1 circuit it has full CCTV recorded race control - highly impressive room with about 40 42" LCD screens. They just copy and paste your movie onto a USB stick and give you the codec.
Thanks to all those who wanted to know if we were OK - we were both fine. A little shocked, but only slight stiff necks for 2 days. Not bad considering the impact - hitting the barrier at over 75mph.

I tried T-cut - but I think it needs the full clay bar and valet to buff the damage out
Seriously - it is about £2000 for the chassis and body repairs + donor car.
Reasonably cheap for what needs doing. Bexleys are helping out immensely
