Hi all im going to order a Eisenmann Race Exhaust and sound pipe but bit worried about noise on the motorway on a long drives, thoughs of you with a similar set up let me know what you think

Totally subjective, what is bearable to me may be too loud for you. I had the set up on my 330 and I found it a bit mild, so I went and added de-kat pipes. Liked it more but the cops pulled me over.

It will be louder than the stock exhaust but it's very difficult to describe unless you listen to it yourself, and whether you have your music on and how loud.

Rule of the thumb is that Eisenmanns don't drone as much as other exhausts like Scorpion. Supersprint is quiet compared to Eisenmann, yet Supersprint is loud enough to some.

GruppeM only roars when you rev the engine hard. You won't hear anything during normal cruising.

I find the eisenmann pretty quite unless its at WOT. Thats with the De-cat pipes and sound pipes, so no resonators. Motorway i can hardly here it if cruising. Ive got 76mm but wished id have gone for the 83mm.

SSDD M3 has the Eisenmann Le Mans Race version and the MSD box fitted, and the sound is very refined. Without the MSD box the noise is quite raw, but the MSD box has given it a more refind noise, and not that loud at all. But as Nick said in his post, it's very subjective. Because the MSD box was fitted 1 week after I had the exhaust fitted, I could take time to notice the difference before and after. The MSD box is now making a wosh noise which is insane :D You won't find this on any other makes of exhaust systems.

Me or Roy will sort out your Eisenmann order.

horses for courses as they say .......it all depends on your personal preferences .

If you cant drive a car with a race system fitted first , and if you do a lot of motorway miles with wife orfamily , then a race system with s pipe may be a tad too much ........IMO

We can arrange for any tip size and configuration you wish though

have you considered a quad ? Contrary to some beliefes , the four pipes do not create more noise , overall , than a twin system ..itis just "spread out " more if that makes sense ....butoverall dB is not affected

please confirm the exact model of car uber .....MSD is an uprated middle silencer section ...may not be applicable to your car

thanks

I dont do many motorway miles at all but couple times a year i drive down to cornwall from kent 4-5 hr drive was just a bit worried it would be to much.

I Did consider quads, i got a quote from you but have changed my mind, one the price and two im fitting it my self, i was told with some set ups you have to moddifiy the spear wheel well, and i had hears that quads were alot louder

I think what im going to order is Race version, sound pipes 83mm burnt tips
I do like the set up on this though, very tempting [hmm
anyone know who makes this body kit and if i can get it for a saloon

Thats a custom wide arch bodykit. Plenty ££££££

Race exhaust on the motorway is really quite quiet IMO, only under full throttle does it become loud, but still no drone or boom.

Id have to disagree about quads not being any louder though. Okay they arnt twice as loud as a twin exit but they are louder.

Yep, that's a fully custom widebody kit. Designed and fitted with no money issues. He's the guy who spent $60k just on his ICE and god knows how much for the bodykit. His paint job is from Lamborghini and cost $20k.

ive got the race version on my m3 cab and its a really nice sound but i wouldnt want it any louder, it doesnt drone on motorways either, and looks great with 83mm pipes

id recommend the 'race'

I have 83mm tips on my M3. IMO it's a tad big for an E36/non-M E46

My mate has the Eisenmann Race Exhaust with 76mm pipes. There's two movie clips of it at idle and revving here: Click here and look under general (http://www.bmwcarclubireland.com/videos.php)
