Well I got the OEM 18" rims for track, but now that i have had it on the car for a few days, i quite like the look of it. I am kinda sick of seeing another m3 on the road, and it has 19" on it. I agree that the 18" look terrible on a standard m3, but lowered and spaced out, i think it looks awesome :)
Also, i had to get 4 wheel allignment done when i swapped the 19s for the 18s. for some reason it was really out
I plan to powder coat them, with time attacks painted or maybe just buy the red strips.

Quick question for the all mighty know it alls on the forum :p Would the rears also fit on the front? I love the look of the deep dish on the rear, and i think it would look awesome at the front as well.

PS track day was awesome yesterday at snetterton. 2 of them db9 track cars were ther(the one james may drove around europe in with no air con :D)
a zonda came down, but didnt track. a orange gt3 rs i was following on the first run of the morning, crashed after 3 laps lol. Not a bad crash, just a dent on the rear quarter panel.
Will post up a video of my car going past, once i recieve it from my mate. Nice to see fiestmeister (spelling :D) ther, with his mate in the 997tt. Dam quick on the straights

No matter what anyone says I still like the OEM 18s. I still have my black ones that now have a silver grey lip and I may put them on the car for a change. Really toughens up the look. I like that look.

Think it looks great...

As for the Q about whther the rears will fit on the front....yep, they will. I know of CSL owners putting rear CSL rims on the front of their cars to improve the handling (for track purposes only though) and so I don't think you'd have an issue with those you have.

i think to get the rears on the front you have to adjust the camber quite significantly to get them to clear the arches though, so not as straight forward as you may hope...

Even though I prefer the OEM 19s on an M3 I think your 18's with a Red TA will look hardcore!

Thanks for the comments guys. I have coilovers on richbe, with a lot of camber. Obioban on m3forum has done this setup. But he says it will rub on full lock http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=144217

at the moment im running 265/35 on the rear and 235/40 at the front. is this correct for 18s?

Correct is 225/40/18 and 255/35/18. I have 235/35/18 and 275/30/18 on my 18s with the 452s fitted.

Stock 18"s don't look good on a stock car. But drop it, space them out and fit a set of BBKs behind them, the car suddenly look hardcore!

They look even better in bright silver, as opposed to the gun-metal finish.

have you got any pics of bright silver nick? Once i get the bbks in the rear, its going to look awesome all round. i wanted the gunmetal look, for cleaning purposes :p with bright rims, they get dirty really quickly.

Fas, the front is lowered, i think where i had parked the car up on the drive, it didnt help the look of the front rims, especially the bumper. I could lowered the car a little more, as i parked up my mates convertible with eibacks on next to mine, and his car was lower than mine!!
