Hi guys..

as most of you know already my son suffers from a blood disorder.. called beta thalassemia major.

well the time has come for him to have a bone marrow transplant. With me being the doner and having my stem cells frozen already its all systems go for the little ones treatment...

he starts his Chemotherapy on wednesday... and is put into insolation on the 27th of this month....

hopefully if everything goes well... he should be home for his 2nd birthday on the 13th september...

sorry if this post is a bit short of depth and information... as im really shitting bricks right now... i;ve never been so nervous about anything...

so if u can... remember my little one in ur prayers... and remember everyone suffering... for prayer... gives us all hope...

thanks again guys... for your kind words... well thought i might let you know that the 1st day went very well... to the surprise of the doctors and us... .they expected him to be feeling groggy and sleepy by the end of the day... but he was far from it...

running around... like a nutter he.. is... even found time to peek under... the nurses uniform(thats my Boy)... i see him having a little fetish for a lady in uniform already... lol....

took him back home... and he was like nothing even happened to him... the docs were very surprised... and said it was very unusual.... hopefully... by the grace of god... hes like this during the whole... process...

day 3.... and still no sign.... the chemotheraphy... is having any effects... hes still running around causing hell where ever he goes... if he stays like this... its gonna be brilliant... but from monday.. they are going to be stepping up the amount of medicine he has... so... i think things will slowly change... after that.... but so far... its been a dream... all my fears... are gone for now...

all i can say is.. kids are damn resilliant... for sure...

Kids of your sons age are so relliant and tough. They really don't understand what is happening and bounce back from such severe things that would knock the crap out of us adults. So happy that he is responding well :) .

a little update... on my little one...

5 days into his treatment and hes doing well... has his ups and downs of course but hes doing very well... full of life and energy... which is surprising the doctors...

yesturday he had a tube inserted into his nose that travels down the throat and into the stomach to administer medicine.. and has so far been the scariest thing... 3 nurses had 2 hold him down so the doctor could carry out the procedure... and i so wanted to knock them out... while they were doing.. it... no parent can stand seeing the child in such pain.... but mashaAllah after a vomit and a little sleep he was back to his normal self...

tonight or 2morow night they are going to step up his medication so most likely hes gonna be feeling more ill but if the past 5 days are anything to go by then.. inshaAllah it wont effect him much...

oh another thing... a little girl... same age as my son... is in serious pain they found a tumour in her vagina.. about the size of a golf ball... .unfortunately... shes constantly in pain... but i think they found it early... so hopefully they can help her... remember her in ur thoughts, prayers... etc... and every other child... adult that is suffering....

quick update... having his last set of chemo over the last few day... in prep for his... BMT op on wednesday...

friday has been the worst so far... the dose of chemo... was pretty strong... and resulted in constant vomitting for about 3 hrs... .very painful to watch and experience and for the 1st time ever... i been really shaken... and felt unsteady...

hes stopped taking food, water milk.. or anything of the sort now... one cuz everytime he eats he vomits... and nobody likes the feeling... so hes on a solution drip... thats hydrating him at the moment... but i been told its for the best... (him not wanting food)...

monday is his last dose of chemo... and on tuesday when his immune system is non existant... they are gonna put him into isolation... to protect him from infection and then the following day the his bone marrow transplant op will happen...

sorry if its a bit hard 2 follow... heads a bit muddled at the moment...

on sunday while at the gaydon meet... wife texted me... and told me some wanderful news... it was so good i broke down in tears and Raj will testify... its the best news i have had in a LONG time and the most important...

the doctors sampled some blood from my son... and it showed some early indications of the bone marrow transplant being successful..... basically... the sample came back the his neutrifills have started to be produced and were at 0.1 yesturday the level had risen to 0.5... which is even better news...

bet ur thinking wat Neutrifils are? well Neutrifils are the big guns in the white cell family that fight infections! We've learned that this number seems to be the one the medical staff gets most excited about so with the levels increasing things are starting to looking good MashaAllah

inshaAllah if things get better he will be out of isolation with the next few days and if this continues then he will be coming home for a weekend... visit next week... so all good... MashaAlllah...
