Well 19s are gonna put more rubber on the road an so grip will much better.
However, when you factor in unsprung weight and extra stress in suspension 18s might be the better option.
Would have thought 19s might shake your fillings a bit! :D

18". Slightly better over bumpy surface, wheel is lighter, less scrubbing with body parts.

Depends what more importatnt to you... the pose factor or the comfort?
As you're on this forum, I'd say its the former - so yep 19's look the part - but you have to give up your comfort for the pose....
Put it this way - all those fully loaded blue-eyed blondes out there full of silicon - do you think you they physically feel comfortable carrying bags of silicon around.... but they certainly look the part.... its a trade off!
In my opinion - the E46 MUST have 19's - and the E36 can get away with 18's... Schnitzer type-III splitties...

Hi,
you drive a 316i? If yes, think twice before you buy a set of 19 inch wheels. Don't forget, you need at least 235/35 wheels or wider. Your car has 105-118HP? Hm I would go with 17 inch and would lower the car if I where you... The 316i has not enough power to roll on that big shoes.
But you must decide what to do. It is just my opinion ;)

He's 17, bigger rims will be doing him a favour, it means he won't be able to speed ;)
