Some pics of the new 6 before and after this Saturdays detail. Would definitely recommend Scott at Obsessive Car Detailing, took him a good 12hrs on the hard BMW Carbon Black paintwork. They are based in Bolton....

looks great. The M5 is desperately needing some paint treatment, the previous owner only seemed to wash it in the car wash, so i would love to do something like this!

yeah no worries, your looking at around about the £300 mark, and 8-10 hours work. each job is different depending on paint conditions and size of car..mine was just over 300 because i wanted the engine bay doing too, plus the carbon black was a pig to machine down (12.5hrs work in all!) Scott even machined the front and rear lights, the plastic looks better than new!

how did you find him? Is the forum that your pictures are linked to a good place to find someone to do the work, and also some recommendations?

yeah dude, the forum is where the detailer guys post up ther work. the people i used last year, were ok, but not the best. swirls mark came back pretty quickly. considering i had only washed it twice, and the way they told me to!! I think some of them cheat, by covering everything up with the awesome wax they use.
I did a bad thing on saturday. i went to a car wash for the first time :( trying to explaining to the cleaners that i didnt want them to use acid on the alloys, and not to use leather or the plastic thing they swipe the water with, came back with  looks. I had to raise my voice, when they persisted on using leather.
After the wash, i had my hands on my head, sayin to myself, what the fuck have i just done :( The sun hitting the car, showed up stupid amounts of swirl marks. All probably produced from when they were using ther dirty mitt, going in and out of the same bucket of soapy water they've been using all day :(
Once i get the car detailed again, im going to invest in a leaf blower, and dry my car with that. Also, I will ALWAYS use the 2 bucket method.
Awesome detailing work done Leesy. I bet you couldnt stop staring at the car for ages, when they had finished with it :D The difference before and after is amazing. Glad you got the engine bay done too. I didnt see a before and of that though. But it looks CLEAAAAN now
Its awesome the way they polish the lights now aswell

yeah well still cant stop looking at it! Got in early to work so i could get the best spot outside the door. 4 of my workmates are trying to convince their wifes to get a detail done - one said "300 quid for a bloody car wash?!" women eh!
I even spent 5 hours clearing out the garage for the cars return, whilst it was being done, now all that is in there is my monkeybike and car cleaning products!

I found scott after looking at all his posts on detailing world, its good to be able to look at all the different cars these guys do. also about what products and machines they use...The best ones dont post up all of their work as they are normally too busy detailing to mess about pic whoring! I did ask especially for him to do a write up for me and he was more than happy to.
