They are great for driving off cliffs, blowing up and general beating. The later models with the glass roofs are great for brick bouncing. :)

Well i just bought one about two weeks ago, as the petrol prices are getting to me
The thing to watch out for is OIL, check the oil level, to high is no good as it will run back into the exhaust and will ruin the catalic converter, or get thrown back out into the the turbo
to litlle oil and most likely the turbo got to little oil and is ruined. listen if the car get nice and quit after about 3min, see how the person drives the car, if he drives straight off if the car is cold, the the turbo is most likely ruind, if he stops the car after haevy driving the turbo is also ruind
but most of all, check for a full smart garage history, no history no buy, and only take a low milage car,
check out www.smartmaniacs.co.uk
other then that, great car and 60mpg
Kool i got a few mods planned to so should be fun one mod is sourced

Hehe thanks for the nudge mate, I didn't say anything though cos Moe's budget is well below the one we have for sale. :)
They're cracking cars to mod up though, all the panels come off easily, loads of modular parts outside and inside, should be a fun project. :)
dont be ashamed of getting a smart car :p
I wasnt to keen but my mate and me are getting them now lol

i've got one and i love driving it about round town !! i rarely go further than bluewater from me in it (about 20mins drive)
I used to use Chequered Flag for all my smart work but Shay the mechanic who worked on my car has set up his own firm called Smart Doctor and he is a genius around a smart !!
My last service at mercedes before warranty run out was expensive and they overfilled the car with oil !! it has since worn all the seals on the turbo so Shay has just fitted me with a new one and i shoudl have the car back tonight !!
I have modded mine quite a bit and am waiting for a custom remap now.
The list of mods on mine are :
698cc, Exhaust, Pipercross filter, s-mann air intake, brabus tik pipe, roadster turbo, stage 2 remap and has approx 105hp now !! it goes off the clock now and keeps pulling through 6th gear unlike when std !!
on the outside i've fitted full bodykit, 16" schmidt rims and the air intake
inside has big sound system and retrimmed seats !!
before i had the new turbo fitted i was still getting 47mpg lol
you cant beat the £35 a year tax either
105 bhp i like the sound of that lol

Mateys got an 08 one convertible.
Had it for the day last Sat when the sun was blazing.
The girls love it because it cute, £35 tax a year, and possible free congestion charging in the near future.
Cheap as chips to run.
Would I have one? Yes, as a daily run about
