British Formula 1 fans will have a rare chance to get up close and personal with a BMW Sauber Formula 1 car when the team’s Pit Lane Park heads to Manchester in a fortnight’s time.
The sport’s newest race-winning squad has announced its interactive event will be at the city’s Trafford Centre from 4-6 July, the same weekend as the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The F1-style theme park will be set up in the shopping centre’s car park and will feature a 110-metre asphalt track, on which World Touring Car driver Augusto Farfus will drive one of BMW’s F1 cars throughout the weekend.
Other activities for visitors will include driving simulators, a fuel stop, a pit stop challenge and an F1 Lab.
Admission is free and opening hours are: Friday 4 July 11am-10pm, Saturday 5 July 10am-10pm and Sunday 6 July 10.00am-8pm.

I went to the one they had in Regents Street a few years ago, they were expecting 25,000 people but 100,000 turned up and you couldn't move.It was a good experience anyway. When we came out of the tube station we walked straight into Montoya who was doing a recce of the circuit.
