As you all know I had my little incident a few wednesdays ago and wrote off my car. This afternoon I picked up a new one. :)

Its a J Reg ('91) Calypso Red E36 316i with 96k on the clock. It's all in decent condition and drives nicely. It's got it's share of scratches and it look like a cat's had a dance on the bootlid but all-in-all, I'm happy! :D

So glad to be back in a BM now, didn't realise how lucky I was.

I got it for £1750 which my bro thinks is a bit high but its only 96k on the clock and all in good nick, so I'm happy with it. The interior is standard but I like the fact it is colour coded and I now have an electric sunroof. :) For a 14 year old car I can't complain. [ok

If you can ignore the hubcaps, you won't vomit. :o

Not sure what more too say other than; see you at South Mimms!!

ps, CCFLs, evotechnik stickers and clear front indicators all coming soon hopefully :)

It's not RED though, it's quite subdued, it's growing on me the more I look at it. :)

May I add, second BM and second HUGE debt, hahaha. :o

CCFLs and clear front indicators at the moment. I really don't have a lot of money at the moment, keeping it running will be my main concern.

If I get a few sites done over the summer I might have some money, but that will pay off the debt. :( Anyway, I've got my BM back :D

Cheers guys, sorry, forgot I didn't tell you all about the insurance. It's all sorted, got a cheque for £1155 on wednesday or thursday. They offered £1525 I think it was but 'cos of my age I have a huge excess and so it ended up at £1155. I was hoping for a grand so I was happy with that.

Thanks for the info on the cam belt, I've got my eye on it, it's got another 7 or 8k on it before it needs replacing I think.

Also, does anyone know anything about the alarm system on these cars? I'm thoroughly confused. I believe it has the BMW Anti Theft System, it's got a siren under the bonnet and what looks like an ultrasound motion sensor on my parcel shelf but I don't have remote central locking or a transponder or anything. How does it work? Does it just activate it when the key is turned or what? I'd like to how it works so I can check to see if it's working on not.

Also (..again :p), the stereo has a red flashing light on it when the cars locked, as it's the standard BMW stereo I'm thinking that may be linked but it might not, any ideas?

Cheers,

Shuriken.

Cheers guys, I've just picked up a set of standard bmw alloys of ebay for £20, what a bargain! Picking them up friday. Fortunately or unfortunately, this car has just had new tyres all round but when they need replacing, I'll stick the new wheels on and buy new tyres for them. Get rid of those "lovely" hubcaps. :)
