Hi there,
I have just had a sport bumper fitted but it doesn't seem to fit as good as the old coupe one did.It sticks out on the drivers side about 6mm were the bumper meets the wheel arch. The fitter said he thinks it is the way it has been stored prior to fitting but i aint to sure [hmm
Does anybody know if there is any adjustment on them or any advice on pulling it in, it isn't a lot but i guess i'm fussy

The Plastic fixtures behind the bumper are totally different on the non-sports so fitting is usually or can be a difficult job.

Have you changed the Brake Ducts etc? This might be causing a slight mis-alignment?

2nd hand one? could be from a facelift saloon as it's slightly wider. You can probably give a knock on the hinges and brackets inside to adjust the position.

I would be well cheesed off if a mechanic fitted that and did'nt have the know how to correct it, as mysticm3 says, i'm sure bracket manipulation is the answer.

there should be 2 plastic brackets (1 on each side) that guides the bumper and you can adjust these so that bumpers are 'drawn' in more that its current position.

Thanks for the advice, i have changed the brake cooling ducts so that rules out that one.
The bumper was used but seemed in perfect condition,it also came from a 2000 coupe so the dimensions should be the same, hopefully like you say it will move over on the mounting brackets.
I will let you know how i go on
cheers

it's trial and error so do it yourself and don't pay someone to fit it as it's a very simple process. good luck!

Deffo a bit of manipulation over the mounting brackets will sort it. You're not being fussy at all. You've paid your hard earned and you just want it to be spot on.

thanks mate,
stripped down the bumper yesterday, as you said small white brackets pulled it in quite nicely (with a bit of help from the misses).
Good to get some advice from somebody who knows what there talking about.
cheers
