On contrary to what most have perceived, the GruppeM actually came up top. So more than just eye candy? It may not sound as aggressive as other open induction kit but looks like the ram air design has it's advantage.

Interesting but flawed.

From the photos it clearly looks like they forgot to add back the BMW air tract that sits on top of the rad for both the K&N and AFE after fitting the GruppeM. This means that the GruppeM was being feed much more direct air.

Also the bonnet needs to be shut to properly shield the K&N from hot air.

Its also interesting to note that Technik only sell the GruppeM intake.

Yep Mat, read about that on M3forum. Interestingly, they took off the plastic OEM ram air partition from the car when testing the open induction kits, that would have increased the air flow into the cone with those huge fans blowing directly into it.
