hi
can anyone tell me how efficient the rev limiters are. was a bit heavy footed last night and before i knew it i was in the red just for a split second. i quickly changed. will the rev limiter prevent me from doing damage to the engine. its a 2 litre valvetronic??? thanks 2 all

well that is the purpose of the rev limiter; cuts fuel to protect the engine.

It will not prevent damage from money shift though ;)

true.thats what the rev limiter is there for.
the only way you can damage the engine is when you downshift and you are already at high rpms therefore forcing your revs to go past the redline...
and who would do that anyway..although i know of a couple of idiots who have done that before claiming that instead of dropping from 4th to 3rd, they accidentally dropped to 2nd... lol

5th to 2nd instead of 4th
4th to 3rd instead of 5th

If somebody goes from 4th to 2nd accidentaly then he deserves to pay :D
