You guys know nothing, toffer325ti don’t talk about stuff you obviously know nothing about.
The people who wrote this were the same people who originally wrote the Mac OS and they then left Apple to develop this. It was originally just for Mac OSX but it took off in such a huge way that in the next version of OSX (Tiger) Apple have included exactly the same widget feature. (whilst at the same time really pissing off Konfabulator). Therefore they have released a PC version of the software to spite Apple. (Longhorn will include a similar feature in its side bar)
What it does is use windows Alpha channel to display small Java apps that monitor things, either online or in the computer. It is like a very advanced active desktop, but much more useful and does not crash your computer.

I'm sure its very useful once you're used to it. But it sounds a bit like a toolbar to me and that goes against my principles lol.
What sort of things can it monitor?

LOL Kav, I'm sure you could maybe hang an air freshener from it or something dude! :D
It's a sweet piece of software, that's without doubt. Once you get into it, it's one of the first things you'll install on a new system. It's a top plug-in.

Just installed it. It's actually pretty cool. The "To Do" Widget will be a lifesaver.
Question though. The whole point is that it alleges it can be anything I want it to be right? Which means I can create new widgets? If so, how?

Hi Bigfas,
i think you have to be a reasonably good java coder to get it to do what you want it to.

it's cool. I've just used one of the widgets to give me access to all other kinds of widgets :)
It's a widget-fest I tell you
i have joined the widget world :D
