Type 3 - split rim....
Yep! as above.

Type 3s are some of the best rims for the E46.
Type 4s are too futuristic for a 'pre-Bangle' model IMO.
I would choose non racing Type 3s ..... cleaner lines.

Type 3's for the win. IMO the type 4 is, well, it looks like some dodgy after market rim sorry!!!

I´m leaning towards the Type 3´s as well... is it just me or do the 18" non-racing look almost the same size as the 19" racing ?? Also, is there any BBK that fits behind either the 19" or the 18" Type 3´s ?
BTW, peppernick, do you have any more photos of your car ? TIA

Not really. I don't miss my old cars. Done and dusted. On to better things ;)
The only car that I wished I still had access to is the Z4M Roadster, only when I feel like having some wild automotive fun. But ownership doesn't appeal.

I used to have Type 3 till they were burglared from the storage.
Then I decided to go for Type 4 - I do like them even more than Type 3

Type 3 either racing or not, personally I think the T3r's are better looking, but split rims are a "pain " long term as they need a lot more maintenance.
Here's my car on them:

Type 3s. The non-Racing versions look bigger, so even a set of 18s would look ok, plus they have the benefit of better ride comfort and cheaper tyres. if you want the racing types, go for 19s

I bought a set of Type III's this week, non racing in 18's, to replace my BBS CH's on the E91 touring, just because I fancied a change and wanted to put the ACS diffuser and side skirts on and a few other little interior mods. (First ACS kit I have liked for a while)
However when searching for ACS kits I came across this E90 with the kit and BBS CH's so now not sure what to do?

Does anyone know what the weight is of the 18" Type III?? They made the car feel so much lighter, maybe it was going from 235/265 tyres to 225/255 that made it feel lighter on its feet?
But big thumbs up from me on the Type III's classic looking wheel that still looks good on the bangle designs.

What Ben said..;) Also non-racing look more simple i think suit E46 better.

Type 3 non racing , I think it is one of the best , if not the best, wheels on an E46
