What are the key components in an SSK? I want to know if an SSK from a 6-pot car will fit into my 4-pot. I want to identify what the key components of an SSK is so that I can use the ETK to see if the parts numbers are the same on stock cars or if they're hugely different.

Fas I bought a short shift kit which is supposed
to fit 4 and 6 pot cars, however I have had to
have mine machined as it appeared slightly to
big and we couldn't get the plastic ring back on.
Haven't had chance to refit it yet but will be doing
it in the next couple of weeks so I can let you know.

Cheers for that. But what I'm after at this moment is what is actually contained in an SSK package?

It is just a replacement gear lever in
effect, the ball that sits in the top of
the box is larger to create the reduced
throw.Sorry its not a better description

This is my current stock setup.

What's included in the SSK kit?

Fas have you got a pic like that one, but for the 330? See if theres any difference. The part which is changed is No.5 i think.

the diagram is identical

Part numbers is as follows

318 - 25111434112
330 - 25111434113 (or post march 2003 - 25117523846)

However, Part number for 320 and 325 is 25111434112, same as mine!

SO, can someone confirm that the ONLY part of an SSK is part number 5? I was at Roy's on Saturday and he showed an SSK to another guy, I'm sure the packet contained more bits than just that!

From what I have seen Fas, the difference is the 6 speed box rather than 6 or 4 pot.

I knew there was more to it than the selector rod. Cheers Lee. Will check part numbers now. I'm SOOOO busy, but this is more important :D
