With the Buy to Let mortgage nonsense that's happening at the moment, I'm looking for another fire to poke my iron into ;) - I'll still be buying/selling/renovating properties, but would like an extra Friday job :)
Can you chaps think of a service/product I could supply, preferably in the world of car modding, that won't step on the toes of other forum sponsors?
Fancy something I could sell/buy from home, one day a week so I can spend more time with the family.
Got to be something that can be post-able, doesn't take up a daft amount of room, and that people will actually need, and that I can offer forum members a discount on
And BTW this is serious Matt
if i had a good idea i wouldn't be giving it a way for some one else to use:p

You could sell me Fifty pound notes for thirty quid, or do charity work, what about spending Fridays working in a hospital helping overworked staff or day centre for the elderly, perhaps you have local hospice you help out.
No offence intended

Awaiting the Doc to post things about the new 2008 range of gyrominge products.
As for a 'friday job' why not look into small items that are of high value - phones / watches etc?

Sye - thanks mate
Bob - want to be working from home and earning to pay for the new nipper - I'm happy with the amount I give to charity financially
Shaank - could be a plan - thanks

Is there anything you can get hold of for free or even dirt-cheap? Something via your trade perhaps? If you can get a constant supply of stuff like that you can flog it easy on ebay and get money for nowt.
I know a guy who gets printer cartridges for free every now and then from working in a production factory. I think he makes an extra £120 a week for sending out the odd package every now and then. The extra £480 a month pays for a quite a lot!

Official watch supplier to the forum? High end watches often have 50 - 100% markups on them. If you could sell them for list + 10% or something, then you'd make a killing (from me and Fullhouse anyway!)

A decently priced full on valeting/detailing service offered from your home would be awesome. You could read up on it, buy in some products and do ET cars. I'd happily drop my car off to you on Friday to pick up gleaming!
Shouldn't be too hard to get into and not have too many costs either! Plus you get to work from home, and could offer further discounts on certain services from time to time.

PIMPING? nah jokes aside, the detailing products seems a good line also you thought about finance? One of my fathers mates started off doing car finance and he was dealing with all my fathers trader mates and now hes retired at the age of 45 to south of france...

Make that Fas, Raj and me!!
Actually, I might soon be able to offer some kind of deal on watches, Tag Heuer or Rolex...
It all depends ;) As I can get a sizeable discount from retail on any brand really ;)

My problem with watches is I don't have much knowledge of them - and obviously Mega has stolen that idea :D

I am looking for a gold rolex submariner at the right price!
I have a m8 who goes to car boot sales (i shit you not) any sales he can, you know the thing, garage sales ect buys stuff up and sells it on ebay!
I know another guy that buys old range rovers and sells them bit by bit on ebay, they both make money out of it, they have full time jobs as well, but as a wee bonus its ok.

sorry to hijack but i can get watches normally at 10-15% off retail and get some really good 2nd hand ones come up
for instance i just bought a s/h rolex date just, gold and steel strap, gold bezel, white mother of pearl face with diamond numbers, box but no papers for £1500.00 in immaculate condition.
I can also get jewelery at a big discount (normally at least half price compared to shop prices)
Same as Thug on all the above except I can get 20% off the watches. Jewellery rates apply too.
I havent stolen your idea though scorcher, so feel free to go for it - as I am just thinking I might put an order together on a one off basis in the near future if anyone here is interested... It wouldn't be a sideline ;)

Sorry dude, but with no papers, that watch is worth no more than £100 to a collector

well i best make sure if i ever want to sell it then it doesnt go to a "collector" - i took it to a watch dealer before i bought it and asked him to tell me what its worth and he told me he would expect me to be able to get £2000 or maybe a bit more for it even tho i didnt have the papers
I have got a letter from Rolex explaining that it isnt stolen etc
but if you look on the watchfinder site you can see loads of rolex;s being sold without paperwork

You don't need to, all you need is a reliable source you can broker through. I want to sell a few from my collection :D
