Hello !
I bought a 330ci with the SK I kit from ASA (I´m unsure if it was bought from CA since it wasn´t me who bought it, but I would really appreciate help if possible). I dynoed the car today and it only gave me 232 rwhp and 290 crank hp, correcting the 232 rwhp with the 15% drivetrain loss it gives me around 270 hp, 40-50 hp short of the announced figures... what could be causing this ?
Also, how do I adjust the pressure of the ASA´s kit ? they say the kit can be tuned from 320hp to 400hp.
Thank you !

I take it you are in Portugal....?
It can be down to poor install. Or the Air/Fuel ratio is off. Anything really.
I had a ASA Kit on my 330ci. ON first install in London it pushed.. 300hp, I had it reinstalled at ASA, and got it to around 340HP, it would have been more, but the RHD headers are not as good as the LHD, yours I take is LHD...You should not have a problem getting 350Hp, if you have a good exhaust system, and ASA upgrade the pulley to a SKII/III kit.
(Changing the pulley is how you get more boost, but this I am sure is not the problem, as you should be getting more than you are now, from the standard SK1 pulley)
If you can spare the time, take to ASA in Germany, and get it reinstalled.
You will be soo happy you did.

HI
do you have the dyno charts ?
what size pulley is fitted to the compressor ?
any fault codes on diagnostic scan ?
these kits are rated at 320bhp flywheel bhp, on a LHD car, so in fact 290 is not too far off the mark, but can be improved I am sure.
Check the boost level at maximum revs, should be around 6 psi. Check for air leaks and that the asatronic module is fitted correctly.
Where are you by the way ?

I´m in Portugal.
The asatronic is set to level 2 (assuming the richest position is 0), what level would you recommend ?
I´m having the car lifted monday to check for leaks in the plumbings, and I´m having the boost gauge fitted on monday too.
Here is the dyno chart:

I recon the pulley is the stock size (SK I size), but I´m just guessing since I don´t know what the other owner did in relation to that.
I really can´t spare the time to go all the way up to germany to reinstall the system.
I didn´t have the car connected to the PC yet, but I expect to have it done 2mw. The CEL is off though.
I tested earlier today the car with the Asatronic fully rich and fully lean, and couldn´t really notice a big difference (pulling from 2nd gear at about 30 kph to 120 kph already in 3rd gear, foot all the way down).
I took this photos of the installation of both the ASAtronic and a part of the instalation of the SC kit I think is not correctly installed, I´m having trouble passing them to the PC but will post them here as soon as possible !

bon dia, tudo bem ? ;)
I cannot read the graph too well or see the data below the graph, any chance you can e mail me a higher res version at all ? What make of Dyno was it please ?
Set the asatronic to richer rather than leaner, for safety.
Do you have access to an air fuel ratio meter ? If so please provide AFR readings at 2000 rpm increments.
Yes, do have the installation checked, and pressure tested if you can, even a small air leak can cause havoc.
Please check the diameter of the compressor pulley, from peak of rib to peak of rib ( ie the highest point of the rib rather than the troughs)
all the best

Tudo bem obrigado ! :D
I´ll try my best to improve the graph, but the original is very dimmed already (dyno printer was low on ink I guess). The dyno was a MAHA.
As you said, I already set the asatronic to a richer setting (8.5, being 0 the poorest setting).
I´m having a boost gauge installed soon as well as having the instalation of both the supercharger and ASAtronic system.
I´ll measure the compressor pulley today and post its diameter here asap.
About the AFR readings, I don´t have access to one, but what could cause bad AFR readings is the ASAtronic, correct ? if so, if I remove the ASAtronic and the FPR and have custom software made, the car should run better, right ? does CA provide software for a SK I 330ci ?
Thank you for your help !

the AFR is THE most important factor on a force induction converson, if the car runs leans you can kiss the pistons goodbye within a few hundred miles.
the asatronic unit is a crude form of remapping, it "fools" the ECU into enrichening the mixture but on set rising scale, rather than rev point by revpoint.
We have custom maps for SK PLus but not SK1 I am afraid. We can fly over and do this for you but it is expensive at around £1500 plus flights and hotel. But I guarantee you more power ( around 15 - 25 bhp more) and much smoother running etc. NO results no charge by the way ....
The Asatronic would then make a nice paperweight for your office :)
all the best
