As you may know, I've been test driving lots of cars in anticipation of the expanding family, plus various visits by the inlaws. I tried all the estates I always wanted to drive (A6, Passat, Mondeo, Accord) but they all proved too small for the double buggy and inlaws etc. So, grudgingly, I had to look for a bigger car that I'd never thought I'd consider, ever. Anyway, I narrowed it down to a Zafira, Touran, or the Grand Scenic as I needed an auto 7 seater. I drove all of them and found the Grand Scenic to have the best ride, sound proofing, and equipment level was by far the best on a budget of 8k.
Come last week, I headed off to BCA auction at Paddock Wood and managed to bag this 3 year old ex-lease car for an absolute bargain. nobody buys a Renault from a dealer any more but it's 19k new, and after 1 owner and 26k miles later, I got it for 5300:eek: It has more extras than my old 323... 1/2 leather, 6CD, auto wiper, auto lights, auto rear view mirror, keyless entry, multi function steering wheel, engine start button etc... I know it's French and some electrics will break but at least I have a big practical car so we are both ready for the birth (and inlaws).
Anyway, I got the car back and straight away, I started drilling the bumper to put in some parking sensors and replace brake pads. I won't bore you with modding on this forum but this has paved way for my own selfish commuter car as I don't like the Mini Cooper any more. I may not have the right cars anymore, but my modding heart is here to stay;)
<sorry for degrading this forum with an MPV, I'll grab the coat>;)
