View Full Version : Upgrading coilover setup with oem AntiRoll Bars to setup with coilover & uprated ARBs
Hi, after installing the Eibach Coilover setup I have been looking into upgrading further with an Anti-Roll Bar kit.
Has anyone gone from a coilover setup with standard anti-roll bars to a setup with coilovers and uprated anti-roll bars? What are you views on the upgrade and is it worth considering? Car is a 330ci.
Is there any noticeable difference between the Eibach and H&R? Thickness/stiffness? Any other makes or factors to look into?
Also, is it difficult to setup? Do the adjustments make differences to the handling characteristics, some info on setting up would be good.
Any feedback would be great – thanks in advance :)

Upgrade the coilovers first and see how you like it, if you feel the car still rolls too much then get the arb.

I did the coilover / ARB upgrade. coilovers were the single biggest thing to make the handling better. However, I had a hookup that got me a set of eibach ARB's so went for it and bottom line, holy shit, what a difference. Not night and day, but absolutely tightened up the chassis for genuinely proper cornering.
If I recall correctly, only the front Eibach ARB is adjustable and mine is on the tightest setting. There's 3 different settings, adjustment would require the car up in the air, removal, then changing the hole you want the ARB to be set on.
kin mak makes a great suggestion, do the coils first, then do the ARB, or vice versa, that way you'll appreciate the difference the mods make.
To put it into perspective, my car is a 318 (2.0 engine) when I had the coilovers and ARB's put in, i had a drive in my car and member Mud was in his 330 with stock suspension. There's a twisty bit near me and i licked him. he took me out in the straights, but I left him behind in the corners, purely because the tautness inspired the confidence to push the car through the bends and the suspension really pushes the chassis down and makes you utilise all the power you're delivering to the wheels with no loss through the saggy suspension.

No idea, but congratulations on the longest post subject for a long time!
Hi, thanks for all the comments.
I have had Eibach coilovers since Dec/Jan and it has improved handling quite a bit. There is still some body roll, and I was hoping that ARBs could tighten things up some more - looks like upgrading ARBs should provide exactly what I'm looking for.
Fas thanks for the comments on fitting, settings etc. I will probably go with the tightest setting to start with and that should save me removing from the car then changing settings - thanks.
Must be so cool to take the twisty stuff so well - exactly what I'm hoping to do also :D
Would i notice any difference between Eibach, H&R or any others suggestions????

haha - sorry mate, I always try to give as much info as possible, but that might have been too much!
