View Full Version : Sat Nav CD stuck!!!!

Was upgrading sat nav cd last night in my E46 330 (02) and now it stuck in machine. Any ideas how to get it out????

Exactly the same happened in my Z4 when I was upgrading the software. I left it over night. Thought i try it one more time and she popped straight out. Thought I was going to have to take it in to the dealers. So wait a while

The sat nav system must have crashed. Just leave the car off for a while 30mins or so, then try and eject it without starting the car. It should just pop back out. It's happened to me before.

Tried everything, left it over night, taken fuses 7 and 41 (nav) still nothing. Can hear disc turning but thats about it!!!! Screens now reverted back to original blue setting without Navigation menu

Sounds like you have crashed the nav computer, did you burn the CD in mode1 or mode 2?

The Mk3 cannot boot from a Mode 1 image, it MUST be Mode 2, a mk4 will happily use both but the mk3 must use mode2.

Method 1:
go to the car, open the drivers door, then go to the boot and press and hold the eject button sometimes it pops out straight away sometimes you need to hold the button for up to 4 minutes.

Method 2:
go to the car, open the drivers door, then go to the boot and multi press the eject button like a man possessed, like when you used to play track and field on the old atari, it may then pop out.

Thanks its out. Now need to work out where to get new cd to update bmw firmware to V29.1

Anyone know where I can get a cd to upgrade my e46 satnav operating system to V29.1 or higher???

I just brought the upgrade cd off ebay about 6 weeks got version V30. If you live in the Epsom/Surrey area, your welcome to borrow.

Press it in for about 4 minutes, then press it in fast like your life depended on it.
