Spotted this big monster over on piston heads. Would it really make so much extra power with such few mods??

Love these big brutes and would be seriously tempted to try one for 6 months after I sell my M in a years time, before buying something more main stream!

Am I mad, (I know there a bit cheap and nasty inside compared to my M), are they any good any one else got one?!:)

Residual Values are not too clever.

If he spent 68k doing that then I need to call him and discuss this bridge I've got for sale... Methinks he missed a decimal point out of that figure...

They're decent enough for a giggle, monsters in a straight line if that's your thing. End of the day - you just spent c.25k on a Vauxhall. Not my idea of value for money. ;)

These cars sound fantastic, particularly with the Wortec exhaust; not sure on the residuals as they are very rare secondhand - I was interested to go a see one before I bought my Alpina, but everyone I went to see was sold before I got there.

I'd have thought a 6.0 VXR would need to be supercharged or turbocharged to achieve 600bhp, and I would expect AP racing brakes if it had been tuned to that level - difficult to tell, but it dosen't look like it does.

It says he spent £68k - does he mean including the purchase price; if it was bought at the wrong time (i.e. before Vauxhall cut the price) it could have been £38K - otherwise they were selling preregistered cars for less the £30k.

Possibly he has spent a huge amount of money on the audio system; I would say it's worth seeing all of the documentation to verify the numbers.

...interesting car though - you don't see many on the roads. They have enormous straight line grunt, but when timed on a track, are often well behind cars with much less power (if I remember correctly, The VXR isn't as quick around the Evo test track as an E90 330)

68K on a vauxhall for shame !!!

Indeed but what did he actually spend 68K on, so some went on the car - but he has never spent 38K on a remap, an air filter, some RR time and some ICE. If he did then he is dumber than his car looks.

Humber bridge, so rould hULL somewhere - the last for the VXR Monaro's were called the VXR 500 as they fitted a supercharger to get them to get 500 bhp.

So unless is got a charger then no way its got 610 bhp.

Total cost does not include all the petrol its had!! :D

Really I do not believe the guy has spent £68k on this car
For fuck sake this is even not a Ferrari this is just a Vauxhall

Even if he had bought an exclusive audio system, I do not believe its worth that much money.

The 68k must include the house and drive it is parked on...
What a waste of money, why not get a Skyline and tune it up if you want something that powerful on a bit of a budget.

Not saying "I" would spend that amount on modifying a vauxhaull! (even though I did spend half my wages on my old gsi Nova many years ago!!) Just love big V8 american cars for the drama not the refinement!!! ... and you only live once!!

First thing i'd prob do is bin the vauxhaull badges and stick corvette badges on it!!lol

Dont think if I did buy one id post on here! prob keep my secret shame a secret!!!!:D

Nothing wrong with them, I actually quite like them, just can't see why anyone in their right mind would spend that sort of money on it, even £68k including the car seems a lot.
Something like an E55 or E63 AMG Merc must have similar power without costing much more than that.

Its all about character though and the big american V8s have it in spades, not ready for a Merc just yet no matter how powerful! Thats what my dad drives and I aint that age yet!!!!:D

Personally there are cars that i like, both in terms of looks and sound, but that i wouldn't want to actually own and use every and i think the Monaro comes into this category.

I like the 'Top Gear' theory....Picking up girl on first date and she asks..."what is it"??? You reply "its a Vauxhall....everything else after that is irrelevant. Also too "chest hair and shades" for me.

Not even i am crazy enough to spend 68k on a frikken vauxhall.....

i like these cars for the simple fact of its an insane car for small money (compared to what it lines up against) and the rumble is amazing

I would NEVER buy one brand new and would never drop this sorta money into one... if thats even possible?!
