Hey guys, was wondering if someone could help, my dad has an 03 E320cdi merc which has 2 faults flashing up on the computer display. the first one is 'service brake system' and the second is 'SRS restraint system' and is accompanied by a red SRS light occassionaly as well. The faults dont flash up on the computer all the time but do very regularly.

Dad had taken the car back to the garage (non main dealer) he bought it and they couldnt fix the fault.

I was chatting to someone at work the other day who used to have an 03' E270cdi, which he said had the exact same faults, he told me that they are very common faults in this shape of E class and that he had taken the car to Mercedes who had fixed his faults free of charge under a recall as they said it was a known problem.

He told me that the work involved changing a control box for the brakes under the bonnet and replacing components in the drivers seat.

Is this a genuine recall anyone else has heard off and if it is then could my dad get his car repaired free of charge by mercedes too?

Any help greatly appreciated!! thanks!

Cheers for that peppernick, but holy Jesus! Are those ALL recalls?

I love driving his car, so relaxing and massive torque, good for relaxation after a fast run in the M! Really thought it was a good car as although these faults flash up on the computer it really hasnt affected the day to day running of the car at all, its a lovely car but if there are that many recalls posted then its making me think again!!!

If I print out the list and take it to Mercedes dealership will they do them all and not charge for the work?

(BTW the one for the tricky to fit filler cap is another fault on his car too!)
