Like headin says. As the 5 is new in everyway i havn't got a clue about the differences other than my lights (early type) are uglyer than the facelift ones. I obviously want orriginal and not the crap fake chrome ones you see on ebay. Thing i mostly need help with though is what i should be looking for as i'm sure i'v seen some are advertised with angel eyes, some look as if they havn't got angel eyes and some are advertised as twin halo's:confused:

Get the original facelift lamps from breakers (they have tons of them). Fabdirect will be the first place I look. You can swap the OEM reflector halos out for CCFLs like many have done.

I would stick with the hella ones and then if you want brighter angel eyes split the casings and upgrade them. I did the rear Hella Cellis conversion on my five to and they made a massive difference to the old red and white ones.

Nick, tell me the difference between mine 2000 v plate and a later one. I know the headlights changed and widescreen satnav and i think headlining or something, but i've heard somewhere the front fogs changed, did the rear lights change as well??

Rear lights changed to crystal led's similar to facelift 3 series. Not sure about the foglights though, mine was a 2000 (W) and they were the same as far as i know. Nick may prove me wrong tho. :D

The front lamps were changed to the one with the twin halo effect and projector style indicator in 2001 IIRC. Rear lights as per Marty said (called Celis lights) but foglights remained unchanged. However, some cars do comes with clear foglamp glass whilst others are frosted. The other change is the steerinng wheel to the later M Sport version found on E46s.

Original/Hella ones are not cheap. £400 is probably what you're looking at. I would still call Fabdirect later in the morning and ask if they have any for sale. Remember to buy the entire lamp with the xenon kit in it, ie. ballast, ignitor and bulbs.

Ok, i'll give them a call. What do you make of these wheels? I saw this on pistonheads and liked them so saved the pic, they look a bit like BBS's but not sure.

They look like Breyton Spirits. Suits the M5 IMO, but that car needs a drop ;)

Kin ell!! How do you come up with these pics so quick? It would take me a week to even find out what they was called. :) . Wouldn't mind sticking a set of them on the 5, 19"s of cause.

Facelift had clear glass on the fogs, prefaclift had ribbed glass.

You also have xenons on the M5. This means the xenon angel eyes will cost you approx £550 - £600 (including ballasts).

You will need to check what type of ballasts are installed currently on the headlights. If you have black ones you will need new ballasts, if its red ones you will be ok.

Cheaper way is to buy a set of Halogen angel eyes for £300 and then buy a HID kit for around £100 mark.

If yours are like the one in the pic below - you will need new ones :
