Ok so these are the next 2 mods on my list:

Short shift - can anyone recommend any and how easy are they to fit. I've had a quick look at at few DIY's for this and it might be a bit more than i'd usually take on.

Exhaust - From what I've read it seems like changing the exhaust doesn't give much of an improvement in power so is it worth doing. I'm quite happy with the sound of the car with the standard system and don't really want anything louder. With previous cars I've had the cat's removed and just put in a straight pipe, would this be beneficial on my car and if so would it affect how loud the pipe is.

Any suggestions on either of these mods would be appreciated.

If you dont want the exhaust any louder and you dont mind the stock tips then id leave it as it is. Maybe removing the 1st set of resonators with a straight through pipe would give it a deeper growl.

The Kats are built into the manifold so you cant replace them unless you replace the exhaust manifolds too. Which is quite costly.

Cant comment on the short shift though, i dont have one.

Good SSKs are UUC Motorwerks EVO3, Active Autowerk and Roque Engineering Octane shifts. Speak to Roy and he'll hook you up. Do not in any chance buy the ACS SSK, you'll be paying double for slightly inferior quality.

You'll need to loosen the transmission mount from underneath your car to gain access to changing the shift rod. So a car lift is required.
