Hi Guys,
After years of M5 ownership, I moved over to the Porsche mark, and ticked the necessary boxes.
A short term change in lifestyle means a more economical vehicle beckoned, however being used to german comfort levels of BMWs, Mercs and Porsches - the decision was fairly simple, either an S320 CDi or the one below which made it to my driveway.
Let the modding ideas flow please guys - first choice is either a 6-CD Changer or an iPOD kit - which should it be?
Here are a few pics of it as is, more will follow once zymol'ed.

Hi Was, good to see you back here
Unusual choice but I can see the reason why people buy the 7. Now, they are a lot of car for the money.

I would say first mod, re-map ;)
Then ditch the CD changer for the Ipod kit.

wheelmania have one of them running 20's or 22inch vogues.. looks rather nice. the facelift is definately the one to go for i like it.. proper west end gangster car lol... but i think ur not going for that look...
light smokes.. undertake a similar install to nick clk with jl speakers and 2 8 inch subs on the back.. i have heard a similar setup in a 7 and it sounded stunning... but it all depends on how much u want 2 spend of course....

that's a beast. Personally, if it's just a short term car i wouldn't do any exterior mods as they would probably have a negative impact on the value of the car during resale as normal 7 series buyers probably don't wan one which has been modded.
Audio upgrade is always a plus.

Read my mind. :) Re-map would change it's attitude on life, too. :)
Dude,
Alloys are an absolute must.
Second is lose the fake wood trim :D piano black or retrim in cream alcantara.
Third, tint it.
Then the remap :D
Lets remember a 7 is all about presence, you will still get where you were going even if it takes 30secs longer.
Lovely car though :)

Guys, we're getting over excited ...... :D

As the barge is only temporary, I would re-inforce my suggestion of getting it re-mapped, cane the sh*t out of it, sell on ....... ;) :D
Seriously, I think I'd have more fun in that car without the fake wood than I would if it had double the right-foot potential to what it has now.
;) :D

my old man's got one, lovely cruising car.
Dont have to do anything and it just eats the miles.
Could look at getting some sport rims, Oem so wont impact the price but make quite a difference (tried to talk my old man into getting them but he isnt interested in cars  )
Shadow line kit makes it look mean as feck  Subtle mods that wouldnt impact price :D

Very nice - have you got the EDC-K on it yours?
I've got a set of kerbed 20" rims taking up room in my garage you can have for free if you collect - sure they'd be fine after a refurb :)

hey Was whats up? been a long time mate! Loving your driveway...lol
I am not sure what remapping can achieve on such a heavy car though
Congrats. As Nick said really, 1st thing is a re-map. You won't be disappointed. After that, just see where it takes you (but perhaps wheels).

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your responses - although quiet I have been in and out of the forums.
Everyones advise is being taken on board - however, I won't be able to implement all due to budget.
The car is a 730D SE, extras: 19" radial wheels, lumbar support, adaptive headlights, privacy glass, comfort screen - all makes it a rather basic car.
However, it does have a 5yr/62k mile Service and Maintanance pack, and BMW warranty until Dec 2008. With 48k on the clock it should give me about a year and a half worth of worry free motoring.
In terms of mods, I need to do a lot more research into the re-map option - ALL ADVISE WELCOME.
The wheels weren't going to be changed just yet, however Dan's very generous offer has put that possibility onto the plate.
ICE wise, Andy will be pulled in as rear screens/DVD as well as ipod link are on the cards.
Any other cheaper mods recommended?
