Lexus style rear lights [Archive]

Lexus have managed to create a new terminology 'Lexus Lights' in the modding world but very few manufactures have actually manged to pull it off without it being ricey. Maybe it's the whole stigma attached to the wealth of very $hit 'Lexus lights' that was flooded onto the market when it had the chance of 'the next IN thing'.

Just found these on eBay and I thought, 'slightly better...but it could be much better...'. If we really want Lexus lights, maybe we have to buy a real Lexus...(can imagine Dan with a smug smile) [hmm

Anyone who puts them on their car, that's a member of this forum, will henceforth be banned!

My wife loves them :( She has a Pug 307. After 6 months of constant nagging and witholding of nuptial rights, I finally got her a set for her car. And they look shite :( But she loves them, but I know better, and her opinion doesn't count. But I got my nuptial rights restored.

Quite right Ali:) I think 'it's not THAT bad' because there's so much crap ones about...imagine BMW adopted the Lexus style for the next 3 series...let's see how mad Fas would be!!!

If designed right, I'm sure it'll look good but, theyr'e called Lexus lights for a reason. They belong on a Lexus.

i seen these on a black bimmer driving around my area sumwhere. They didnt look tooo bad cos he had the whole chrome theme going including rims but they definately take away the classiness of a bm.

Have to agree with ya Fas, they look shite and looky really tacky on anything other than a LEXUS.

I would have given in though as well, Fas (there crap, but not that crap hey ;) )

Yup, worst mod money can buy. Theres a 330 near me with them on, but he also has a 5" Jap exhaust so that says a lot:rolleyes:

TBH, I quite like the lexus lights, on a lexus that is! Fas may ban me for this, but I'm willing to take the risk. It's just like all those vauxhall novas/saxos/corsas you see bombing round the place with M3 wing mirrors. You ask yourself 'why'?

Personally, I wouldn;t put lexus style lights on my car, but that's my opinion. If you like the look of them go for it.

As you have said, as they go, those ones aren't that bad. However, you could find an 'amazing' set quality-wise but due to their over-use by people with novas etc they will still be categorised as such.

I can't stand them, the horrible thing is, I've seen a few set of headlights for pugs and stuff with CCFLs - I really, REALLY hope we don't see CCFLs going the same as lexus lights. It will be a huge shame if they do. :(

The quality of the CCFL's on other cars are so poor though, there either bright yellow or you can hardly see them due the the Lenses not being clear.

AS Teddy mentioned, the newer Mazdas all have these lights on and IMO, they're not bad at all. Let's see how the new MX-5 goes down with sporty flared arches .......AND.......clear Lexus lights...

i saw some CCFL fog lights on an escort at the last max power night at ACE cafe...my photography skills are bad. Even worse at night :(:

theres these guys doing driveway work for one of the neighbours. Both his e36 and old school merc have chrome arches [crackmeup.
