i just got one 2day mine was only a cheap one but i use 2 work in a body shop and we used a good one that looked like a big angle grinder but slower with a buffer on end a good one will set u back about £100 and your car will look like new it will even get rid of small marks but dont do it 2 much or you buff through the paint [cool

From what I've heard you've got to be careful with them or you'll do your paint damage. If used right they are amazing - apparently.

my friend game me on last year I only used it twice and it overheated and went. I am going to buy a new one soon, definitely worth the money, buy a proper one and you'll see the difference. Gets rid of light scuffs and swirl marks too.

Doesn't make a huge difference if the paintwork has been mantained 100% from new. On everyday road cars, a good session of hand polish is good enough.
Meguire's Clay bar before polishing is fantastic in restoring the texture of the paintwork to mirror finish. It removes most of the contaminants that are not easily removed by liquid paint cleaner and wax.
