hi folks
ive finally decided to get rid of the m3 for a 330cd msport!!! madness i know but when i was using it for work i was using £120 a week in fuel and when i left it home for the mrs to use she wouldnt drive it because its too big.(she drives a pug 206).in the last month its done about 200 miles and that was to tesco and back a couple of times.sooooooo ive decided to get a 330cd so i can use it for work and she can have the pug back.couple of questions...
1.will 19inch m3 wheels fit staight on without arch mods
2.will need more power so which way to go?? ive looked at remaps etc etc.
cheers guys

Damn £120 a week, what's the mileage of your daily commute?

You'll be able to get pretty decent gains from the 330d if you had a remap. I think that would def be the way to go.
As with the wheels, not too sure sorry!

im a travelling salesman and im based 36 miles from home but i cover all of pembrokeshire on a daily basis!!
Driver's with 330cd have been quoting mpg's of over 30, so it should help a fair bit.
Regarding performance I'm assuming the standard mods of induction kit, remap, exhaust will help?

If they are genuine M3 wheels then i'm afraid not without some archwork on the rears. If you can get hold of another two fronts you can fit genuine 19's all round.

£120 a week seems cheap to me! I do 160 miles daily to work and back in the 540... If I drive sensibly I get 2 days to a tank - so thats 2.5 tanks in an average week, at close to £80/tank now :(

You need 4 front OEM M3 wheels if you want to fit M3 wheels onto your 330cd.
Power, speak to our forum sponsor CA Automotive. A remap will see some healthy gains on your car.

i used to do £120 a week on petrol a week on my M3, till i got myself a £300 run around :) i work my way round my M3, not the other way round :p
simon from e-maps can come to your house and give you a remap. i got that done on my m3, and he was a top bloke. only costs around £250-£300.

...and heres me complaining about the £30 I put in my tank weekly.
I cant believe the quotes im hearing for petrol in this thread... I do about 110m a week to and from work and a £30 top up usually covers me nicely... but I STILL think were paying over the odds for fuel in this country, its ridiculous!

heavy useage i know!!! thanks for the info guys.loads of help.gutted though.
D Power...
Get a K&N filter to replace the stock item. Then get yourself a remap (it s up to you who you use, I used AmD just because had used them before). Then if you really want to go further add an upgraded intercooler (I used Allard) and then a Milltek CAT back exhaust. With all that you will easy get over 280bhp and 415lb/ft torque with the added bonus of still getting over 35mpg and keeping up with M3s.
on average i get 37mpg i had mine mapped by chipped uk 260bhp, as nick said the M3 wheels wont fit but there is loads of others to choose from

hmmmmmmmmmmm all sounds very interesting!!! maybe not such a heartache after all. i like the oe 19s.got them on the m3 at moment and i dont like any others.....apart from csl's!!
I ran a 330d M Sport 204 BHP model alongside my E46 M3 for 3 years.
330D regularly achieved 40+ MPG on a run. Didn't have it re-mapped & it was a fantastic daily burner. Enjoyed the 50K miles I covered in that.
