Warranty????

HI,
I have a E46 sports convertible 2004 in mystic blue,
WANT TO MOD MY CAR FURTHER I.E: PERFORMANCE EXHAUST,INDUCTION KIT, BIGGER ALLOYS.
BUT WHAT WILL INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY AS THE CAR IS 2004 WITH 2+ YEARS LEFT ON THE WARRANTY.

technically speaking everyting aftermarket you put onto the car after dealer hands over the keys will invalidate the warranty, however, it;s really down to each dealer how they perceive your modding. For example, every time I break something on my car (e.g headlight washer broken, airbag warning lights due to disconnection etc...) I just take it to the dealer and they fix them for me underwarranty. Everyone on this forum has modded their car to some extend and I have not heard people saying their dealer won't fix a problem because of aftermarket mod. After all, if you got an aftermarket exhaust on the car and your front ball joints/bushes are gone, they can't possibly refuse to change the bushes under warranty because you have an aftermarket exhaust.

Having said that, be careful what you buy and mod, as some aftermarket stuff are really shite in quality.

Yeah Ted's pretty much covered it there. Basically, most dealers will be sensible and if you've modded something they won't warranty it but if you've not modded anything related then they will honour the warranty. Some dealers are better than others, but I've not found one that really got shirty about them tbh, usually they just frown and try not to let on that they wish they had your car.. ;)
